  • We also get a few glances of the coordinate system that the time machines use in doctor who. It appears to have enough digits for a date/time as well as an X/Y/Z grid coordinate.

  • Just because the spider is dry doesn't mean it doesn't have to handle the mental anguish of being beaten down once again by the rain. Just another day in the crushing machine we call the water cycle to a sun-dry-apologist like yourself

  • "Echo chamber" has a negative connotation but doesn't actually mean anything negative by default. A group that all parrots the same idea, whether it's beneficial or negative, is an echo chamber

  • There's this non-profit that specifically connects produce retailers with black farmers. I feel like they probably had great intentions but every time I think about it I go "that feels a little too close doesn't it?"

  • Oh yeah, I've only been on Lemmy a few months but I've noticed it. I was one baby face emoji (is that just a Voyager thing?) in a sea of old accounts, but recently I've been seeing more and more of those baby emojis

  • Okay I just double checked and you're totally right. When I was in the military someone had told me there was actually regulations around "military grade" and they were just different from milspec. Technically military grade is supposed to refer to milspec but in the private world they don't check if it's actually true or not

  • Every time I have to manually go into my authenticator I think to myself "I should really turn on your notifications so that I can just do this from the top-menu"

And then I hit my confirmation, close the app and don't think about it again until I manually open it again lol

  • "Military grade" means that it went through one extra round of inspection before it was sent out as far as I'm aware. This round of inspection is basically just putting it through certain weather conditions to simulate "will this survive a deployment"

  • I watched Gordon Ramsay on Hot Ones, eating hot wings and answering questions. At the end, they asked him to cook eggs. He put them straight into the pan with some butter and scrambled em just like that, so I do it too
