  • Not if you think you can get a jump on softs and eek out hards later. I suppose there also needs to be a bigger gap in compounds if we really want to perfect it. Or, if we really really want things perfected give Bridgestone a shot at making tires that can degrade over distance despite the amount of pushing so that there's no slow tire saving and all out pushing every lap to give rise to the drivers making more of a difference on who can keep up lap after lap of near qualifying runs. But that's perhaps a different tangent.

  • This is where the Porsche fuels come into play beautifully. They capture carbon from the atmosphere to be the carbon in the fuel therefore once run through an engine the emissions are a net zero. And they can run in regular gasoline engines, and is shown to be roughly the same cost of production as current gasoline.

  • It's how you go about that that gets political. Just an example: Nuclear or Solar? EVs, bike lanes, or public transportation? I know you'll say it doesn't have to be one or the other and there's no one size fits all answer, but you bet your ass when money is involved it'll get political.

  • Have DRS for the sprint races for people who want quick action packed gimmicky bullshittery, then for the full grand prix allow strategy to play out with tire deg and compound choices to give whatever "boost" needed to get past.

  • Honestly, don't get too caught up with written rules. It's always going to come down to a judgement call and you're never going to please everyone. Having loads of rules will just lead to "well I think this violates rule 72 § 904b(3) and here's an essay on why!" Just do the best you can keeping things from becoming a Halo 2 matchmaking lobby.

  • You should probably look at the latest, he left court after pleading not guilty.

    Edit to add:

Also here's the context of the first agreement breaking down:

Judge Noreika asked Justice Department prosecutor Leo Wise whether there is an "ongoing investigation here."

"There is," Wise said, adding that he could not tell the judge what the investigation was.

Noreika asked if the government could potentially bring a charge related to the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA), to which Wise replied: "Yes."

At that point, the original plea deal broke down. Defense attorney Chris Clark said he did not agree with that.

"Then there’s no deal," Wise said.

Clark countered, "As far as I’m concerned the plea deal is null and void."
