  • alpine is cool but I'd only recommend it for computers that are so slow they struggle with Firefox

  • interesting to see that the Moskva has its own category

  • try having a look at the logs from the end of previous boot, I think it's journalctl -eb -1.

journalctl is afaik systemd's log management thingy, and any software issue should be able to be found there.

if it's a hardware/driver issue it might be a bit harder to troubleshoot though, what hardware (cpu/motherboard mainly) are you using?

  • interesting, that kind of fine would be nice for us to have in Australia. i agree with you honestly, a fine for something like this would be good as long as it's hefty and proportional to income

  • A fine works if it's a significant amount of the finee's net worth, but because fines are not scaled proportionally to finee's net worth (or even scaled at all) it's my opinion that these things just work as a paywall, including things like traffic violations.

    1. I don't use google
    2. ddg couldn't find any results
    3. steam runs remote play, you can't just run some binary somewhere if it's even seperate from the main steam binary
  • a paywall for a moral breach sounds like a horrendous idea

  • coreboot/libreboot saves that much battery? I thought it just handled the initialisation of devices and the devices were handed over to the kernel (and the drivers that come along with it) as soon as boot was done. Aren't the battery savings down to superior power management drivers?

  • is tail recursion really recursion?

  • i don't think i went wiki diving really, i just followed what it said but it gave me a nice overview of what does what in an arch system that i could expand on later

  • don't use archinstall if it's the first time, the manual installation is not that hard

  • i thought yay told you to not run it with sudo?

  • where is this data from? i can't seriously believe it even if it is the us

  • bunnings sausage sizzle is literally the Australian staple food

  • my Linux install has a chatbot that can do anything i request and it's epic, i think it's called the terminator or something

  • but you couldn't buy the Microsoft ultra generative ai copilot llm npu gpt closedai giga mega intelligent laptop 10 years ago and you can now, so you should be happy

  • Just to clarify I'm not saying that we should go around killing people, just that objectivity isn't real in morality
