maybe. its possible there are other semi-conscious awakenings inside this person as well. cognitive dissonance makes it very, very difficult to admit you were wrong. we can't expect people to do a 180. the people on the right win elections because they run a big tent. I personally believe the left(more-ish) in america loses elections largely due to purity tests.
anyway, its hard to say what's inside someone's head. I say if someone is willing to vote blue for "the economy" they're welcome in the tent. with any luck, the influence of the other people they're no longer knee-jerk hostile to will rub off over time, issue by issue.

yeah it fuckin sucks. you dont need to believe it or not, I swear to you (it also happened to my wife, Im a US citizen and she isn't) this was in the dublin ireland departures when you go to the states. you actually go through immigration when youre still in ireland. so you go down an escalator to a specific part of the airport thats sectioned off from the rest for this. walking up to the desk, before i had a chance to take my passport out of my bag, while I was still about 10 feet away, he TSA agent said "hello [name]" they did the same thing to my wife. its disarming as youre not expecting it. there's no knowing where in the line the facial recognition already took place. the idea you can consent/not consent is almost certainly purely theater.

Most importantly, if you're not using a "night mode" display filter to force the tint to the red side of things w the screen, your phone (and all monitors and tv's) projects light in the blue end of the spectrum, which mirrors sunlight, which tells your brain it is not time to sleep.

Im moreso talking about news headlines. Leaving the EU was an incredibly serious situation and the news media made a cutsie pun nickname for it and said it on TV with a straight face.

I live in Ireland- the UK press, and to an extent, possibly as an effect, the general public, use these infantilized, gross ass cutsie words to describe things. Footie (football). Chockie (chocolate). It makes me nauseated.
yeah well being from pennsylvania I would have no trouble believing it. philly is philly, and pittsburgh was barely democratic leaning, but drive 40 minutes in ANY direction and you might as well be in kentucky.
