  • I'd say they're my favorite as well! They're definitely the ones I tend to go to first when I get the urge to re-read any of the Discworld books.

Good choice in username by the way!

  • I'd like to recommend Old Man's War, which is the first book in a sci-fi series. I read the first 3 books in the series basically back to back within 2 months and really enjoyed them. I'm in a similar spot as you and I'm getting back into reading after not reading much for the past few years and these got me back into the habit.

Not sci-fi, but anything in the Discworld series by Terry Pratchett is also a good (and usually easy) read.

  • If you have an android, you could look into installing revanced on your phone so you can listen to YouTube with it without ads instead of on your work computer. That's what I do.

  • It doesn't, but most game sales are front loaded at release. Having 8 months on the shelf still makes a difference, for sure, but it's still notable that it was number 1.

  • Serious question, how often have you rewatched the prequel trilogy? Say what you want about the sequel trilogy, but at least it can be entertaining. The prequels can be so boring.

  • Episode 9 is also pretty bad, from an editing perspective. Everything just moved too fast, and nothing felt like it had proper buildup.

  • Everyone is quoting the sequels, but don't forget the prequels. Between those and the sequels, there's a solid 4 movies out of 9 that I'd say are bad, maybe 3 if you're generous.

The games and from what I understand the books can be pretty good though.

  • Correct. When I found out it wasn't going to be on steam, I figured I'd get a physical copy for the PS5 instead. Found out that wasn't all option either...

  • I recently beat the PC port of Chrono Trigger, which was my first time beating it. It held up better than I expected.

Currently I'm switching off between Megaman Battle Network 2, Half Life, and Lost Odyssey. It's my first time playing Lost Odyssey and I'm a little surprised how much I'm enjoying it. It helps that the localization has been really good so far.

  • It's true, we give trials and similar protections to citizens of other nations, but if someone weren't part of a nation at all, why bother? There wouldn't be a larger body of organization that would be interested in protecting them.

And we have suspended that right to non-citizens before. That was a major issue with Gitmo (in addition to the cruel and unusual punishment)

  • The thing that annoys me about "Sovereign Citizens" representing themselves in court/thinking that they somehow aren't beholden to US law because of some stupid declaration on their part is that the law and the court are there for their sake. Having a trial, being presumed innocent until proven guilty, and entire idea of due process is afforded to citizens of the United States. If "Sovereign Citizens" truly weren't US citizens, there wouldn't be a need to go through all of this. The government could just seize them and do whatever they wanted with them. They wouldn't have any government to go to bat for them.

It's all just so stupidly short sighed

  • The development time on that game was also super rushed, compared to what the game needed. That's why you don't recruit any of the ME2 companions to be in your squad (since they could all die) and why so many decisions from earlier games didn't really pan out if you had a save where the decisions didn't match what Bioware was able to plan for/had time to develop. I absolutely wouldn't be surprised if they barely even got the ending they had finished in time to ship.

  • Interesting, I hadn't heard of this before. I'm not sure how I feel about the environments in the trailer. I think the game looks largely visually appealing, but the trees/snow/rocks seems to clash with the character models.

  • I thought Amy Hennig worked on Legacy of Kain, which did come out on PC.

  • I'm almost willing to bet they'll release a Golden/Royal version a year or two after this version that has the portable content in it, if they do anything with the portable content at all. They wouldn't do something so consumer friendly as release it as dlc, they'll make you rebuy the entire game instead.

  • I've heard good things about Cozy Grove, though I haven't played it yet. Seems like a good Steam Deck game

  • I checked the website listed in the video, and it looks like it says there will be local split screen!

  • I can second Thumper. I bought it on a whim, and have since bought it several more times for more devices. It's such a satisfying game to play. I had no idea about the Harmonix connection, but it makes total sense now that you've said it.
