I feel the argument is a little different when it comes to physical goods.

Stealing a Nestlé product takes away revenue just like if it were left on the shelf, never purchased, and discarded by the shop. The main benefit there is the edible portion of the product doesn't end up in a landfill.

From what that article says, this fee is only charged to a PayPal balance. I have no clue who's keeping a balance in a PayPal account, but it's not like they're going to charge someone's payment methods.

Not defending them, I just find it surprising that they have any customers this could even apply to.

Not sure why people are beating up on @nxn@biglemmowski.win for saying his opinion. Different people value different things.

I think I can answer your question though. Buying a console is a plug and play experience. Building a PC is not. Not everyone has the time, the patience, or the technical experience required to purchase compatible components, assemble the machine, and install the various software.

Anyone that's ever bought a prepared meal has overpaid in comparison to acquiring the ingredients, prepping them, and cooking the dish. It's worth the price to do so because I sure as hell don't want to spend time making a bowl of French onion soup.

You just know someone in the chain wanted to be able to say, 'we were the first', then they got fact checked and had to add in that qualifier of commercially available ground station.

Surely any rational individual already acknowledges that subject as lunacy. The segment of people that after seeing the joke would fall victim to the conspiracy is bound to be smaller than the segment that find it mildly amusing.

Damn, no one got the joke about the two top commenters in the thread becoming the same entity?

Strikes me as fishy that the finance ministry went to court with Apple to say 'no don't pay tax'.

If they don't want the tax, have the cheque made out to the EU.

I wish the media would eviscerate these people like they used to.

Not exactly related to this article but, I looked this judge up on Ballotpedia, and found this funny little tidbit.

Judge Merchan handed the Trump Organization a $1.6M fine in that tax case a couple years ago. The District Attorney for Manhattan, Alvin Bragg, said:

"While corporations can’t serve jail time, this consequential conviction and sentencing serves as a reminder to corporations and executives that you cannot defraud tax authorities and get away with it."

What a head of cabbage. As if a couple million dollars is anything to these corporations. These fines need to be double digit percentages of revenue before they get viewed as anything other than a line item on the expense report.

As someone that tries to condense posts and comments, I have 'Show action bar by default for comments' disabled. Now, as score location has been altered, I'm not able to see comment score. More problematic is there's no longer an indication of whether I have already voted on a comment or not.

In order to get this information now, I either must enable the action bar for every comment which fills a lot of the screen with buttons that I don't need, or press and hold the comment to expand the action bar manually. This is a reduction in displayed information that doesn't seem proportional to the benefit of a 'cleaner' style.

At the very least, I'd think the score should be put back next to the commenter's name when the action bar is disabled.

Oddly enough, last year I used dish soap in the laundry for a few months without noticing, and nothing like this happened. I was surprised when I looked it up and saw this kind of thing as a common occurrence. Couldn't believe I had picked up this container each weekend for months without noticing the picture of plates and glasses on the front.

I understand now these soaps are quite different from one another and the fact nothing happened to me is a fluke, so definitely don't do this on purpose.

These things happen to everyone from time to time.

I myself misworded some comments just the other day in frustration and inadvertently caused an upset. No worries at all. It's big of you to come in here and correct yourself. It speaks volumes to the type of person you are.
