  • Updated the comment with your recommendation. Yeah. I suck at writing.

  • He likely only got the job because he's black so it evens out

That's one reason you received a ban from !news@lemmy.world (Racism, as noted in the ban message).

Ate shit like you said. Tasted like your mother's pussy.

That's another reason you had a comment removed. Reason given: "Civility"

My address is your mum's bedroom

That one caused a ban from !Funny@sh.itjust.works (reason given: "First rule of the community is Be Kind. Come back later and try again.")

Your entire Modlog is on display, so don't say "They'll ban you without even telling you why"

Fascist: a far-right, authoritarian, ultranationalist political ideology and movement, characterized by a dictatorial leader, centralized autocracy, militarism, forcible suppression of opposition, belief in a natural social hierarchy, subordination of individual interests for the perceived good of the nation and/or race, and strong regimentation of society and the economy.

Yeah. Removing content that is offensive is being fascist...

  • As a DevOps Architect, let me make it simple:

With a single front-end, you have a bottleneck. If you have one domain (website) that everybody goes to to get to the front-end, that means that domain is the single point of failure.

In my line of work, we use load balancers and sub-domains to divide the work and provide resilience (High Availability), but at the end of the day, if the DNS for that site goes down, we're down.

Also, as Jet mentioned, whomever whoever controls the domain (website) controls the content. You can't have multiple groups controlling a single domain. Whomever buys it controls it. If they don't like content, they could easily block access to it.

I'm oversimplifying the inner workings, so if you want more details, let me know.

EDIT: subtext called me out on my crap English. Have nobody to blame but myself. English is my first language.

  • It's amazing what people can turn into an insult.

I live in a "flyover state". What does that say about me?

I mean, surely it means something, or you said it for no reason.

Please, psychoanalyze me based on where I live.

  • The point is that if you see things, report them. That's how we keep the community civil

  • We are volunteers, with full-time jobs. We don't watch all the comments in our communities. We tend to only act on reported infractions. For example, you are reported often for rule violations (rule 2, mostly).

  • Following that logic:

    • we shouldn't try to stop murder, because it will always happen
    • we shouldn't try to stop racism, because it will always happen
    • we shouldn't try to stop slavery, because it will always happen
    • we shouldn't try to stop government corruption, because it will always happen

We shouldn't look at our past and say "we will never rise up above this, so why try". We become better incrementally, by TRYING to be better.

By basically saying "you're disillusion for advocating for better" means you've given up. I and many like me haven't. There's no reason we can't work towards a safer society for all.

  • Please explain your comment. It could be seen that you are (mockingly or otherwise) stating that all sex is rape. As this is not completely clear, I would ask that you explain what you meant.

  • Comment reported. Rather than removal, as I don't feel you broke a rule, I decided to respond directly.

Instances aren't isolated. Yes, we have individual instances, but they are FEDERATED. We don't have one central governing body, but generally speaking, instances that are federated between one another have very similar views. If you can see this, that means your instance is federated with an instance I can see or am a part of.

Saying to "find an instance that matches your values" shows you have almost no understanding of how the federated technology and ideology works.

  • This comment was reported. I have left it, and decided to explain.

Nobody is saying a person is more dangerous than a bear. They are saying that a woman feels safer in the woods knowing that a bear is there than a man.

This is because a bear, generally, won't attack unless provoked. Not all men (and I'm a man, before you try to guess) have that much restraint. This is not saying that ALL men are bad, or even MOST. Just statistically speaking, a woman is more likely to be hurt by a man in the woods than a bear.

Ignorance of the argument can be solved, and I hope this helped.

  • Do you have any of the accounts doing the harassment? If you would, DM me those that you have, and I'll personally look into it, and reach out to instance admins with my findings.

  • There is no such onus. If you don't want to go through a paywall, feel free to find an alternate source.

  • 3 deputy U.S. Marshalls killed. 8 total officers wounded/dead. They were serving a warrant against someone having a gun that isn't allowed to. 1 accused dead. Others in custody.

  • Post reported for trolling/rage-baiting. Leaving it up for now, but will be watching it.

  • Living in the south (USA) directly in tornado alley, the tests were rigidly scheduled.

Every Wednesday at noon, unless there was inclement weather.

  • It appears they edited the title a number of times. First title was "Israel-Hamas war: How an aid convoy in Gaza became Israel's target"

  • Just checked. it does match. They are using the new title. AP changed the title post-publishing, but failed to change the header title.

  • Our rules are clear. We remove all content that is reported if it breaks our rules. That means I've removed some comments by you, as well as ones against you. Just because you would rather we kept things you agree with up, that doesn't mean we are performing "censorship to serve an agenda"
