Well that kind of gets to my second point of servers disappearing. Used to be you could find or create your own servers for your more casual players but most games these days have no such options.
It's simple, Plex is owned by capitalists, their goal is not to provide a service or a product, their goal is to make money. Jellyfin is currently the best as far as I know for doing the only thing anyone ever wanted Plex to do.
IMO people act like it's training wheels so they can get better, but it's more like turning the game to easy and not having to face any challenging hurdles. When people go into a game on easier difficulties and then try to play it on a higher difficulty, they actually generally have a harder time than if they just played the game on the harder difficulty to begin with (with some exceptions). Players should be getting better by experience not algorithmically making them feel better by pitting them against other poor players. It worked just fine for a long time before the invention of SBMM, and servers used to do a lot of the filtering for us before that stopped being common (for absolutely no good reasons).
Sucks to suck, I'll stick to my games: they cost less, aren't full of microtransactions, aren't just re-hashing the exact same thing every single year, and most importantly? They're fun.
I'm American, let me tell you, if one of us steps foot into Canada intending to invade, you should put a bullet in their skull. Fascism must be met overwhelmingly. Never give it an inch.
I have them blocked in Voyager. I just don't understand why I didn't see any of their comments for over a year until suddenly now. I've been on the same instance the whole time and they only recently had their offline debacle, so it makes no sense to me why they were successfully hidden from my view for so long.
Then were they defederated from us? I didn't see any of their horrible users for ages, even before they "went down". This is the primary account/instance I've used and only now after like a full year am I seeing their posts again.
I don't have a lot of experience, but the one 6 year old I'm around the most sure is obsessed with the PS5. I'm sure "Netflix" here means "rich board members" who typically know fuck all about their investments.
That's the funniest thing about the left vs right in America. The right makes no attempt to follow the rules or be consistent with anything they say, the only goal being to win and move the country further right. Meanwhile the left is walking on eggshells to follow all the rules and getting steamrolled and crying "they didn't do it right!" It doesn't fucking matter when they're erasing your existence, you don't do it right either, you do what needs to be done.
Really depends on the server/instance. Like, lemmy.world is just an exact clone of Reddit, so talking out of line is never acceptable, and the Communist Triad will remove any comments with facts that refute their paper thin arguments, but there are plenty of instances that aren't like that at all.
It's so incredibly sickening for a human being to just delete millions of documents and pieces of data for their own ego. Like, he's probably caused the deaths of millions by shit he did with COVID and other stuff, but this will fuck over all of humanity for the rest of time.
You can't ignore the MANY people who have died in our Hispanic concentration camps to say that the ones we've deported in the last two months haven't died, that feels so disingenuous to the overall story. We've killed a ton of people for the crime of brown skin, especially in our concentration camps. First time we did it was the Japanese by the way, this isn't even new for us even though we pretend Germany is the only country that's ever had camps.
This has the same energy as buying But Light to shoot.
