Afaik it's definitely a slur here in the US, but most people have never met a Pakistani person and thus don't know to be racist against them.

I got blackout drunk one night and the next morning my pixel 6a screen wouldn't respond, just black. Powered on and rang, alarm went off for an hour, print scanner, all worked, no screen. The Winds of War. I enjoyed the Caine Mutiny so much, I plowed right through it and wanted more. Winds completely deflated that. I tried to read a couple other Woulk books and just couldn't get into any of them.
