  • It quite literally is a reduction of harm. If two options are presented one is extremely harmful and one is slightly harmful, then voting for the slightly harmful one is a reduction of harm. Harm. reduction.

I don't know what you are talking about with "harm reduction has a specific meaning..voting is not harm reduction." because the words literally mean a reduction in the amount of harm, whether active or potential.

Even if you can provide an alternate definition, that is more of an example of the versatility of the language allowing multiple definitions, than any commentary on the current subject.

  • Nice, that sounds delicious. I'm actually guilty of enjoying avocado toast every now and again. There is a "everything bagel" seasoning at Trader Joes that goes super well on top. The funny thing is I had no idea what avocado toast was or that it was a thing until boomers started bitching about it. Sounded good so I tried it lol

  • If you like tinkering and fussing with settings, get something like a VoxelLab Aquila, or an Ender. If you don't want to futz and just want to print or model, go bambu or maybe prusa if you can find a deal

Edit:future me here saying, don't get the bambu. They were always a little bit close to shitty practices. But now they are crossing the line. Go Prusa instead.

  • AI is one of those things that's stupidly overblown. The true downsides to AI are it's uses in spreading misinformation and it's enormous environmental impact. When companies are buying nuclear plants for enough electricity, the whole thing has gone off the rails. There are other downsides but those two are the largeat to me. In short though, we've nothing like true AI anyways so playing god is a stretch.

Edit: tbf I do understand your point and find it valid.

  • While that is preferable to the previous one, it's still only showing 3 posts with tons of wasted space. This is putting an infosparse UI over an infodense application/platform and when you do that you lose functionality and make using the platform more tedious and time consuming. In a way it's nice but it loses too much function to be appealing in this application. I could see that being an acceptable UI for another platform but not a link aggregator where the whole reason for existing is to gather a lot of information together.

  • I see this issue through so many newer UIs. Sure it looks nice in a way. But it looses all functionality. We have an info dense application, pairing that with a infosparse UI just causes frustration and excessive scrolling and clicking. Info density matters.
