It is a term used by people that think that everything is a conspiracy theory. Most likely OC meant that comments here are payed shills of soft drinks companies trying to downplayed the significance of these news.

In reality, it's full of reasonable people that don't immediately jump on the boogieman bandwagon but simply critically look at the announcement and provide context for it so people don't immediately stop consuming sugar-free consumables in favour of sugared ones as we know the latter to be deadly.

I hope you are not being sarcastic. It is exciting to find people that don't know about this. And I am totally serious because this is such a cool discovery. While we knew for long time that birds are dinosaurs, seeing the latter with feathers makes today's chicken looking even more majestic.

On a more serious note, I am happy that people like you exist that care about privacy as it benefits everyone overall I guess. But you have to remember that some people, like me, don't have issues with having their opinions and even some personal data public as long as we are aware that this is the case (which is how I treat all the social media).

For instance, durning my Reddit 7-year tenure I always wrote my comments in a way that if suddenly my employers or friend brought it up, I would not be ashamed of what I wrote.

I am not saying it's not good to think and discuss about things like that but I would appreciate if you didn't call people insane that have a very different attitude to you if it comes to internet privacy.

Some people freak out about internet privacy, GMO, sweeteners causing cancer, etc. There are others that don't.

People might also ask you to provide further justification of your comment. In both cases you can either engage in a civil manner, tell them to eat a bag of dicks or just ingore.
