  • The crux of your argument about "make sure you didn't get into any controversy" is baked into the name change process...

A legal name change in the U.S. for any reason other than marriage or divorce typically requires several steps. First, the applicant must file paperwork that includes the reason for the name change and pay filing fees that can be hundreds of dollars. Then the applicant attends a court hearing where they may need to defend the reasons for their name change. If they are granted a court order for a name change, they will need to go through name change processes for other documents such as driver’s licenses and birth certificates, which require additional fees. Many states also require that the applicant pay to publish their name change in the newspaper, with some states requiring multiple publications.

Ohio in particular is one such a state that requires you to publish the name change in the newspaper

  • If I can be pedantic for a second, I have actually paid a small monthly fee to be able to do exactly what you describe, which is to be reimbursed for the difference in price by my credit card company. So yes, you really can do that.

  • scientists at Cambridge guesstimated it would take making it into a significant side-dish or main course to REALLY fuck you up

I actually heard about this from a YouTube channel referencing the diary of Gerrit de Veer from 1597 where he recounted his expeditions' encounter with eating polar bear liver and nearly dying from it in 1596.

I can't find the actual diary entry, but I think it's behind a pay wall on the Wikipedia link as a reference.

The story the YouTuber told was presumably in the diary. He said their ship got stuck in ice and they used wood from the ship to make a cabin. Sometime later, they had a run-in with a polar bear and ended up shooting it from inside the cabin. Sometime after that, they had a group meal consuming the polar bear liver and everybody's skin started falling off.

  • Very few actually! Apparently some Dutch explorers back in the 1500s trying to sail over the top of the globe got stuck in ice and ended up killing and eating a polar bear and documented their illnesses

We didn't figure out what happened to them until the 1940s

  • Now you just need a model one Sega genesis SCART cable with inline audio to plug into the headphone jack and an OSSC to perfectly multiply the scan lines up to HD resolutions! Oh and also to set your HDTV into its gaming mode to reduce input lag.
