  • The thing that graph doesn't take into account is barely anyone paid full price for those older games. Games used to lower prices to increase sales volume and those sale prices are significantly less than $80 even accounting for inflation.

  • Unpopular opinion, but I think people should be able to choose not to work even if they weren't born rich. Certainly, they should expect a lower standard of living, but they should be able to live just fine and not have that ability held hostage to force them into labor.

  • Most states apply liability to whoever is in the driver seat anyway. If you are operating the vehicle, even if you're not controlling it at that moment, you are expected to maintain safe operation.

    That's why the Uber self driving car that killed someone was considered the test driver's fault and left Uber mostly off the hook.

    Not sure how it works for the robo taxis, though.

  • Yeah, that was always a bad argument. The truth is it will always fail in the transitional step where the state owns everything. People in power do not want to give up that power, so it inevitably leads to dictatorship followed by eventual collapse.

  • You actually fell for that? UV takes hours to kill any amount of microbes in numbers that could make you sick. That thing is doing nothing but costing you money.

    Try this, get yourself a cheap microscope and run some pond water through that gizmo and see what you get out of a drop at the other end.

  • Time travel like that can only go forward. If you want to go backward you need to decouple yourself from your relative position in spacetime. Or find a way to go faster than light without ever going light speed, which will definitely need a space ship.
