  • I once heard from a friend learning French that the way to say that you are in the process of doing something literally translated to 'I am on the train to [doing the thing]'. Is that correct?

  • Best I could guess is because Proton is based in Switzerland as a nonprofit so it's both (supposedly) not profit-motivated and not subject to the 5 eyes, 9 eyes, or 14 eyes survaillence.

NordVPN is based out of Panama, and its parent company is based out of the Netherlands, which are subject to the 5 eyes and 9 eyes, respectively. It's also not a non-profit.

These are pretty obviously superficial differences, and are irrelevant to whether either group is actually data-secure.

  • If C is the correct choice, then that is only one answer out of four that is correct, meaning you only had a 25% chance to answer correctly. You've created a logical paradox.

25% occurs twice, so in reality there are only 3 outcomes from your pick. Since you know 25% is incorrect from this, that is 30% of the total answers, but also 50% of total options. Via this, you can conclude that both b and c are valid answers, depending on whether you view it in relation to outcomes or in relation to options. If you view the 3 outcomes, then you have a 60% chance of being right, but if you view the 4 options, you have a 50% chance of being right. Both 50% and 60% being accepted as anwswers solves the paradoxical nature of the question.

  • Personally, I doubt that most enslavers would be killed had they been turned over to their newly-liberated slaves. Why act out in aggression when you've just won what you would have killed for before?

Even so, you as the enslaver have cast the dice and been shown mercy. Can't really sell that whole 'Black retribution' bullshit when the moment has come and gone without occurrance. I agree, turning the land over to the enslaved and letting them decide the fate of the enslavers would've done the US a load of good.

  • Bruh, what cherry picking. Literally in the exact same movie you have velociraptors stalking prey in groups and the dilophosaurus doing their own patronizing thing. If we look to other movies, you've got Xenomorphs, you've got tremor worms, you've got pumpkin head, you've got Moder (The Ritual), you've got the Blair Witch, etc.

There're plenty of good stalking monsters in film, some of which that you don't even know are there till it's too late.

EDIT:also, we see literally a few scenes later the T-Rex come outta nowhere and grab a gallimimus no problem, so they're even shown to be decent ambush predators in the same movie.

  • That makes more sense, since ammonium perchlorate can be shock-sensitive and reacts with various chemicals.

So it's possible this happened while/after synthesizing the sodium perchlorate into ammonium perchlorate.

Edit: I am maybe jumping the gun here, I'm not sure at all whether this was being synthesized at time of explosion.

  • Article on it.

    • Article says 'mishandling'.
    • Shipment was in two shiploads from China.
    • article also says the fuel type was 'sodium perchlorate'-based.

Thoughts overall on what factors contributed? Is sodium perchlorate super volatile?

Edit: Wikipedia says that sodium perchlorate mixtures used in rockets and fireworks are not shock-sensitive and do not spontaneously detonate.

  • In the case of steam and web browser, the containerization means I can control their access permissions via flatseal. This adds another layer of security, since they're both web-accessing applications, and it's easier than setting up a VM to run those applications.
