  • Be the change you want to see in the world. Start up a spreadsheet or database and start looking to see if there's a way for others to add to it and view it, like a Google Sheets or a non-Google equivalent.

  • Yeah, not to mention the responsibilities that a landlord has when it comes to maintenance on the property. I was saying no one else in this thread gets that there are benefits to renting, even though there are.

  • Persona 5 Royal!

I hear so many great things about this game and have been wanting to play it. My friend played it and let me play it a little, but I feel like this is a game that must be experienced from the very beginning to properly enjoy. The music is great, the art style is fantastic - it seems like an awesome game.

Regardless if I win or not, thank you for giving these away to people. I hope you and everyone in this thread have happy holidays, and if you're not celebrating any holidays, I hope your days are still blessed with cheers and wonder.

  • No one asked me to name non-US corporations that sell your personal data, but...it's not hard to find? TikTok, Wyze, and Samsung immediately come to mind. Idk which EU legislation you're referring to, but if they only refer to US corporations as examples, then they either have other motives for solely focusing on US (besides Zalando), or they are blind to the rest of the customer data market.

US data collection is pretty terrible, but let's not ignore everyone else that contributes to the problem.

    Fuck data brokers.

  • That's fair. My personal experience is people identifying as libertarian online have been fairly intolerable, and some but not all I've met IRL that identified as such have been good people. YMMV I suppose lol.

  • Sorry to hear that they initiated the end of the friendship. I disagree that there's "no way" for libertarians and liberals to be friends still. Libertarianism doesn't mean "super right wing" like some people think - it means small federal government and strong, but also small local government. The ideas are more about it being your own personal responsibility to take care of a neighbor in need, not the government's. Not saying that this is right or wrong to believe in, but I do see that there are arguments to be made in favor and against this idealogy.

My friend and I have been friends for a while. I've seen myself as fairly centrist but lately voting more liberal. He's seen himself as libertarian and seems to always vote right. We have interesting conversations about politics and philosphy, but we also don't let it get in the way of enjoying games and hobbies outside of politics.
