  • You right. Irgun morphed into the Likud party that’s effectively held power since the late 70s and is in-line with Bibi’s hardline Zionism. The Behind the Bastards Episode on Netanyahu was informative for me on the politics of Israel.

  • I tried (long distance) dating a poly dude in a situation where he had a long term live-in boyfriend and got me and a trans girl to start dating him around the same time. He wanted a polycule to work out and it seemed plausible-ish for a few months, but the communication was atrocious. Everyone liked the central poly dude and I tried getting along with the other two, but it was clear they were just interested in the main dude. Turned into a mega jealousy situation between all of us which blew up horribly and spectacularly.

In a good monogamous relationship now, but I wouldn’t even try a poly thing again. It requires a lot of communication, moving parts, and if someone is slightly less than truthful it’s probably doomed to fail lol.

  • I’m not sure what your problem is with the article.

Both sides say an ambulance convoy was hit by Israel. Israel says Hamas was in there and the other side said it was just aid. It says Israel has not proved Hamas fighters were hit and the Gaza health ministry has not reported a number for those killed.

  • I get better responses here on Lemmy with my longer replies, which is great. Reddit feels overall dumber now where people will try and argue that your comment with sources is somehow less compelling than someone else’s sourceless opinion (true story).

I’m having far better interactions on Lemmy.

  • You cannot separate Zionism from the formation of the state of Israel and how the history of the conflict has been shaped since.

In order to obtain a more holistic perspective of the conflict people need to know about Zionism, it’s history, and how it currently affects Israeli leadership.

There are still people alive on both sides that lived through Zionist conflicts with the British Mandate and the Nakba.

  • peer reviewed properly

Is the important bit here. The timeline from that Wikipedia article shows it was published in 2005 and work disproving it’s claim came around in 2006.

If a scientists work is retracted it really kills any more funding they receive. They use examples like the DRBG one as what not to be.

  • It is what it is. The world needs some semblance of order and you can't just go fucking killing this many civilians because somebody took your land.

So by this logic, Native Americans should’ve just accepted Manifest Destiny?

The rest of your statement is fine, the first part is stupid.

Edit: this isn’t support for Hamas’ actions, this is the consequence of Israel’s very real policies and actions that lead to stupid people with a lot of anger targeting civilians
