  • Glad you pointed this out. The efforts of Guy Fawkes and his team were to restrict the rights of many. Although the character of V For Vendetta is cool, it's very, very loosely based on the actual Guy Fawkes (who gives me the impression of a bigot, from what we know of the gunpowder plot).

  • Haha yes! This is a brilliantly hilarious watch, I remember when it came out years ago. The person put effort into not just replacing wands with guns, but all the effects and such to go with it. Also I think in that version Hermione kills one of the main'ish characters (I forget his name), and they just go with it in awkward and funny moments instead of bringing him back.

I highly recommend it to anyone reading. It's one of my favourite fan edits.

  • Lol how? No seriously, HOW exactly would AI 'wipe out humanity'???

All this fear mongering bollocks is laughable at this point, or it should be. Seriously there is no logical pathway to human extinction by using AI and these people need to put the comic books down.
The only risks AI pose are to traditional working patterns, which have been always exploited to further a numbers game between Billionaires (and their assets).

These people are not scared about losing their livelihoods, but losing the ability to control yours. Something that makes life easier and more efficient requiring less work? Time to crack out the whips I suppose?

  • I know this may sound like a joke, but ChatGPT is sometimes nicer than real people.

I've not had a conversation, I wouldn't see the point at this moment, however I've had some friendly interactions when asking for help. The other day I asked ChatGPT what exercises would be good for a specific area of mental health. After the results, I said "thank you" and the response wasn't just 'youre welcome', it remembered the conversation and added things like, "no problem, I hope your mental health improves and all the best!" (Heavily paraphrasing here).

It's strange, though the premise of HER isn't too far off I think. If someone like myself is finding the interactions to be more pleasing than real life, the future may very well hold the possibility for advanced relationships with AI. I don't see it being too farfetched, just look at how far we've already come in only a few years.

  • If you wish to know more about the benefits through therapeutic approaches, I highly recommend Prof. James Fadiman's book titled 'The Psychedelic Explorer's Guide'. It is a rather large resource based on Fadiman's involvement in LSD trials before research was halted abruptly and without warning, and is as close to a scientific approach to developing better pathways to preferred thought processes (through the use of psychedelics mainly LSD) that I am aware of.

Other resources include a therapeutic handbook, provided to health professionals such as psychiatrists prior to the illegalisation of LSD. This can be found on Erowid, alongside other documents that have survived.

  • This has been how the latest Mario games have felt to me, even that New Super Mario thing they were doing.

They've stripped everything out of Mario that made it fun, gameplay wise, for something that just looks 'pretty'. These games feel more like tech demos than how I felt growing up with Mario games, and I truly and honestly feel that way. This trailer just looks like the same deal, and you've confirmed it for me thanks. Such a shame tbh.

  • I find it strange that they immediately called it a "better ReVanced", when apart from the feed thing it doesn't have nearly as many features as ReVanced.

Has anyone come up with an actual reason to switch? Because I have a feeling ReVanced is still better?

  • I recently was diagnosed with Diverticular Disease, I wasn't sure such a procedure existed. Is it a rather daunting procedure? How was the recovery? I am rather intrigued, as this is quite debilitating.
