  • Been enjoying Lemmy, so I wanted to see how Threads is. "It's just going to seem like another instance, right?"
It's Facebook with another skin. The posts are pretty much all the same sort of posts memes take the piss out of. Literally feels just like Facebook... Going to stick to Lemmy, myself.

  • The sign was made by someone else and stuck on top of an existing ad on the tube (the name given to the train system in London).

Occasionally people manage to stick these on, and have them go unnoticed for a good while (or it takes a while for someone to get to removing them).
Somewhat recently, someone made an ad for an illegal weed shop on the clearnet, and had those on the tube in a similar fashion for a good while before they were removed.

  • It's funny that person assumed I'm American, as well. Born and raised in London, UK, yet lived in America for a number of years.

My outlook is entirely from an outsider perspective, and the differences in culture is very, very evident like the examples you mentioned.

  • For what it's worth, I'm 35 and had a colonoscopy not long ago due to intense abdominal pain that lingered for years and no other test could pick anything up (went through many things throughout the years, mostly being brushed off by the NHS).
It didn't detect cancer, however they almost immediately recognised Diverticular Disease which would not show on anything else they did.

Been on daily laxatives since and I feel physically quite good. Took away years of pain, however the prep is nothing to laugh at. I thought I could handle it, didn't seem so bad... Man, let me tell you I still think my actual soul got flushed and is floating in the River Thames to this day.

  • I'm with you. The trailer looks incredible and I am very eagerly anticipating the game.

The trailer showed a lot of things that would likely be a part of the GTA6 story, and for that it looks like the game is geared up to be something incredibly entertaining and FUN!

My only gripe is the PC version is likely to release after consoles :(

  • If you have money going out per month, use Klarna (or similar services) for Pay in 3 set ups for better goods that may cost a little bit too much for paying all at once.

Whilst there are bargains to be had, many cheaper appliances may fail or reduce in quality so quick; however, the 'good' things are often a fair bit out of people's price ranges.
I have used Klarna for various things around the house, also good shoes, on the same day per month that I've received money. They've all lasted a very long time and much better than cheaper alternatives, and they're fully paid off in three months.

There is no interest taken, and can come in handy. I have gotten a washing machine and big fridge/freezer using no interest installment plans, and over time they've saved me even more money by being more energy efficient than the cheaper ones.

  • Am I the only Autist who is extremely offended by people saying "this or that" causes Autism?

It's annoying when corporations try to use the condition as a tool to further their bullshit arguments.

  • Here's the thing though... I've been on Reddit for over a decade before Lemmy, and whilst there may be less interaction the interactions themselves have been far more sincere. People are more willing to engage, and even with this random comment there's a chance someone would comment below.

The community feel of Lemmy is something, at least I've found, Reddit had lost a very long time ago.

Sort of a quality Vs quantity thing I guess?
