They say you should listen to my inner child, and when I was a very young child I wanted to be a caterpillar. So far I'm accomplishing this by doing fuck all but eat and sleep.
Maybe I'm less like Franz Kafka than I thought, however I believe I should give it a little more time (just in case metamorphosis is around the corner).
I blocked him from my client to see how different the sub looks, and personally everyone else seem to be posting a lot more interesting things (to me at least).
Also I miss when people posted about things they themselves actually learned that day, sometimes leading to fun conversations in the comments, rather than just Googling for generic facts and copy/pasting them in.
I remember having a sleep timer app, on my phone, about a decade ago. It was free and turned off any media playing after a set time, regardless of where the source was coming from. Worked great.. not sure why it's a premium feature, I wouldn't be surprised if that app still exists.
Just a hunch, but it seems to me that in an event to be called WW3 there would be a lot of infighting. There just appears to be a lot more civil unrest in recent decades, and I just have a feeling it would be a war much more fragmented than the ones before it.
I have much less wonder now, and it is ruining my day to day enjoyment at times. It is hard to dream big when you know more about the world, and how corrupt it all can be. They call it depression, but when reasons are provided for lack of opportunities it's seen as downright shameful to be upset about it.
I miss the times when I was more naive about the world, it made it all interesting.
You can still choose your tracks on vinyl, it's just more manual.
Look at the grooves, and in-between them there'd be thin almost ungrooved flat lines going into the centre: those are the track separators. Hover the tonearm above those and drop it in to play the track you want.
I used to do this with some records I wouldn't have a big care about with preservation (compilations such as Now That's What I Call Music!), since it would mean those tracks would have more wear than the record as a whole.
I know I'll get downvoted, but I want to say this is just the experience of me and my families over generations: moved from India to England. My grandfather and his relations fought under the British Raj, and he worked for the British government in a small job even after the partition, so after a while my grandparents came over to London. My mother did nursing training in India, but at a St. Mary's boarding school so she was taught by mostly British standards and that made the transition to move to London much easier as well (I was born and raised here).
Your post essentially highlights the elephant in the room, as to why a lot of people immigrate to countries like the US, Canada, or the UK: despite our problems, many people find these countries to be better in terms of, well, many things. You can find pockets of communities here to prevent you feeling too homesick as well, such as Southall which many (including myself) call "little India".
Maybe look at options for if you can aim towards a field of employment that would provide you with the skills required to get a VISA to a place with (in your personal view) a better quality of life. If you have the time and dedication, programming and various IT fields have often been successful with this however I can imagine there being a lot of competition. Perhaps someone else could recommend a better field.
When I was much younger and CoD4 was the latest, I thought I was rather good and so entered a competition.
Everyone was crouch jumping (we called it "bunny hops"), and I couldn't hit them at all. Left absolutely defeated lol!
I don't have an issue now, however every time someone does it today it's like I have flashbacks to that horrible defeat 😂
It's all a bit of fun though. If the mechanic exists in a game I can't be angry or hurt at someone taking advantage of it.
I went to Amsterdam over the weekend. The weather apps said it was gonna rain, did it fuck. I brought my puffer jacket and was almost dying from the heat until I got to the hotel room. Never had to wear it during the trip.
Because of the limitations, I hired someone to create a program that yells letters and characters individually one by one on a text based browser.
