  • My message is in stereo. In the right ear, a booming, authoritative voice saying "Question everything, don't trust authority, the God you believe in might not be real."

In the left ear, a serpentine voice telling them to trust their religious leaders, you don't know much yourself, you can't trust your logic, you have to have faith.

  • If it makes me feel virtuous, I want to do it. If it makes me feel guilty, I don't want to do it. 'Right' or 'wrong' seem to be objective morality-ly loaded terms, though.

  • It's easy enough to become one, as it is any cult member, if you want to. Just approach a member of the cult, ask to join, and give them your life savings. But why would you want to?

  • It would be so cool to use one that I'd written every bit of code to myself!

  • I haven't tried it myself, but isn't GTK supposed to be good at that?

  • I mean the Voldemort of HPMOR, Harry Potter and The Methods of Rationality, a fanfiction by Eliezer Yudkowsky

  • Does The Bible count? Total omnipotence seems cool. If not, then Voldemort from HPMOR. A great intelligence and magical power.

  • Are you saying Steve isn't a videogame hero?

  • Sorry, I don't know of one for iPhone, iPhones are fairly locked down anyway. But a cheap £10 Nokia brick has call recording without announcements, if that's at all useful.

  • Looks like Angry Birds to me...

  • Saturday and Sunday are both S though

  • Lack of evidence against is not evidence for. Remain open to possibilities, but don't assume.

  • Maybe 'straight' would work better, if the answer is supposed to be bi? 'Not gay' includes bi.

  • Anecdotal evidence is so strong!

There's definitely no way you could be making a generalised statement from a single incident... /s

  • Tata instead of mama or papa? But also, what about parent's siblings, or sibling's children?
