I beleive they will, here in australia the gov has been slowly but surely driving up taxes on cigarettes until the point where its such an expensive habit that people wont get hooked in the first place because why spend all that money on durries when you could spend it on some much more enjoyable and affordable instead - before you get to the addiction stage.
This is along with changing laws to deincentivise smokers, such as plain packaging laws to remove advertising appeal, banning indoor smoking and smoking within x-meters of a building doorway, etc.
And now vapes are the new thing the tobacco industry is pushing they have outright banned nicotine vapes and cartridges importing and buying.
If they create a generation that never starts smoking then will anyone resist banning it by the time the last smokers die out?
I have been to Mauthausen concentration camp.
Harrowing expereince, especially when you are walking through one of the buildings with lots of artifacts in glass cases and information on plaques and go through a doorway and suddenly your in a room with floor to ceiling tiles and shower heads...
Agreed, also i like to stack my bag very methodically with heavier and more sturdy items at the bottom, cold things together, interlock and tetris everything so the bag has its own integrity and doesnt collapse and spill items out into the car after a corner.
Yes i know the checkout person also stacks in a similar fashion but they are paid the slap it through and into a bag as fast as possible to serve the next customer and i dont mind sacrificing an extra 15seconds of my day over the bag stacking operation to do it right.
We use those 'soda spoons' as teaspoons in our house, it does the same job but has the extra utility of stirring a giant cup of milo/coffee/whatever, mixing dressings/sauces/marinades, or stirring cocktails.
Thanks, that makes a lot of sense. I just thought that i can use contactless pay with my phone if its unlocked just by tapping the eftpos machine but i suppose people wouldnt be putting their phones in there unlocked generally.
So im no tech expert but a couple issues i see off the bat:
relying on a mechanism to pull in and spit out your phone seems ripe for a failure where the phone gets jammed/caught/sterliser breaks mid-operation and your phone is stuck. Maybe instead have a shelf that you put you phone on and then a cover just swings/drops over it but you can physically just lift the cover up to remove the phone.
entry slot is in the surface of the bench, directly next to the sink, where any overflow or splashing will have water drop directly down into steriliser and phone.
having a device in a public place (with no cameras, because bathroom) is a perfect place for someone malicious to affix a NFC (or similar tech) scanner to read data from/send data to your phone.
I myself dont associate with any of the personal struggles discussed in 'Chalk Outlines' but dammit if it doesnt make me feel something, almost tears every time.
Something else i dont see mentioned often either is that ICE cars generate heat as a waste byproduct of producing power, but electric cars dont produce usable heat, so if your in an area where its cold then using the AC heating will be additional battery usage coming off your driving range
Well no-one else has said it yet but pokemon.
Over my childhood i played a hell of a lot of Red, Silver, Sapphire and Leaf Green, but i never got close to completing the pokedex.
On my first pokemon (silver) i had three pokemon at lvl100, and the rest of the party was lvl95-98 playing the elite 4 over and over and over with a single pokemon just to get the last few levels (after running out of rare candies) but i never got the dex closer than ~30 pokemon off. Even disregarding the trade or alternate version exclusives and the [practically]unobtainables (legendaries from event codes) it was such a grind to get some of the last pokemon with high evolution lvls and i just never managed to finish that pokedex.
I have come to terms that i will never infact 'catch em all'.
The sad part of this is the people here with the critial thinking and reasoning skills to make that descision are the ones not passing on those attributes, but its the low income & education people are the ones who cant even think far enough ahead to wear a fucking condom.
DDG is hit and miss for me, its my main SE but if i dont get results i want i switch to google. I have actually searched a website with almost the exact URL (when i wasnt sure about the end of the address) and it gave me zero results for that site, so it definately has its shortcomings.
