For what it's worth I have an RX 7900XT and it works great with the Free software driver. The other reply is right that amdgpu is supported. I use Endeavor and was a bit confused about setting it up at first, but the nice guys at the GamingOnLinux discord helped me out and now it's extremely painless to use and upgrade.
I moved from Kubuntu to Endeavor (Arch-based) and was also afraid of bleeding edge stuff breaking all the time. I gotta say I was pleasantly surprised by how stable it is. The only couple issues I had was 1 bad kernel version and vmware update. I learned how to roll back and avoid upgrading these 2 packages for a couple weeks until the new versions of both fixed everything. I was also reluctant to learn a new package manager since I already know apt, but yay is arguably easier to use than apt. My gaming has been great, no issues.
Support forums kind of suck all over. I'd imagine the systemd free distros are more elitest than the norm.
Also jeeze, just meming on the internet, no need to "Those people" me sheesh.
Yeah in the end it's all just nerd gripes. I sold my old computer to my non-techy friend with Kubuntu and he likes it just fine :)
