  • I’m laying here in bed until the last minute required for me to great ready to rush into work to attend meetings for 7 hours then come home and do actual work for another 5 to keep up with workload. Yes I’m as tired as you

  • I love reading about how Korea and Japan are both having this problem and in each it boils down to: people are struggling to survive under capitalist oppression and refuse to bring children into the life of oppression

  • They’re a decade and a half late on this. We were still playing as Altair when everyone said this would be a great ninja game mechanics wise. Now they’re finally doing it but Ubisoft is a shadow of the studio they used to be quality-wise.

I haven’t bought anything from them in almost 10 years and have no intention to since it’s been the same bad game over and over with just more cosmetic stores and micro transactions galore.

  • You don’t need to add features to a vending machine though, it just needs to take currency in exchange for snacks and drinks. Any metrics of what sells better/worse can be done by watching inventory like we’ve done all of commercial history. They’re over complicating this for no valid reason

  • So they say the sense of users are using the phone functions while driving.. that doesn’t mean people are sitting there staring at their phone while driving though. I participate in teams calls while driving to work, from work, and between sites when doing projects at other sites all the time. Does that count as distracted from being on a phone call playing across my car infotainment system? If so how is that different from listening to music, does playing music via pandora or spotify on my infotainment with phone plugged in count as distracted? If so how is that different from standard fm/am radio? Are we expecting people to sit in silence while driving? They’re still just going to zone out from boredom at that point

  • I recently planted 3 trees when my uncle passed, the funeral home had a program where you could buy flowers or plant trees for the deceased. I chose to do both.

There are certainly programs you can donate to that plant the trees somewhere for you if you don’t have space to do so.

For a less legal option, just plant trees on other peoples unused lands. If they aren’t farming it or building on it they probably won’t notice or interfere with it

  • That’s interesting it went down in NYC, here it was definitely worse for that time they were on strike. Organized theft rings hitting parking lots of every event, shootouts at bars nightly, drag races downtown at night, everything went to shit and the cops just refused to do anything for any crime less than murder

  • The excuse is valid though, the symptoms are the same. They aren’t required to take people exhibiting symptoms of drunkenness to the hospital, should they or should they not be is beside the point, they aren’t, end of story.

I’m not making excuses, you’re just looking for a head to hang when there isn’t one

  • Helldivers 2! Played the first one a bit but not nearly as engaged with that as I am in this. Bought on launch day and had a blast until the massive player spike killed the servers, that’s seems to be better now as I was able to get in fine and play for a few hours last night.

It’s 100% worth the price and hype but I recommend waiting a few weeks to a month from now while they fully deal with server load issues and they say mechs are pretty much ready to be added now and are just getting polished.

For background, the first game peaked at ~7000 players, this one had 480K on steam alone and that number again on PlayStation this past weekend. They didn’t expect this level of success and so didn’t plan to have server capacity and robust network code for it, they are putting in the long nights to fix it though and we’re already seeing improvements only a couple weeks in

  • But the crime rates go up when the cops stop arresting people and stop showing up to court. My city just got done with a silent protest with our police last year because they didn’t like the DA holding them accountable. Their response was to just stop working basically, ridiculous and our city suffered for it
