You realize you're doing the "lazy doctor" routine right now, right?
You already decided on an answer and when confronted with a discrepancy, you decided that your understanding is correct and this specific situation is the outlier.
That's the exact same thought process you're complaining about.
You're absolutely right. It's hard for me to switch out of using 'TERF' because it offended them, but no one is even pretending to be a feminist anymore. I need to find a new shorthand name for "bigoted towards trans people specifically".
I think this is too specific, as you mentioned. Why not broaden it to "a piece of literature they were not required to read"? You could talk about anything from wikipedia articles, to current news headlines or sci-fi books this way, and it shows where their curiosity lies.
Oh, interesting, you're correct. I didn't realize 'intent to fraud' was one of the requirements for it to be a felony. I saw one of the machines that uses the metal slugs and assumed they were all switching over because of that.
It's because their religion claims that whoever has the worst life on Earth will have the best life in Heaven, so they're constantly seeking out ways to reaffirm that they have it "so hard".
They associate the negativity of others towards them with godliness.
I think it should depend on the company at the time of the purchase, but that the company is still responsible for their branding.
Although, I also think the real answer is that there is no ethical consumption under capitalism and any outrage is being misplaced onto a company instead of the system that caused it.
And you're missing the point that if you're willing to ignore trans people "in order to be taken seriously", then you're siding with the fascists on how to treat trans people. They will take advantage of that.
The existence of trans people is being erased from our government's documents right now. If both sides are ignoring trans people, what the fuck do you think is going to happen? I'll give you a hint:
"First they came for trans people, and I did not speak out- because I was not trans..."
