Well Americans aren't a monolith and as I said, individuals taking action against a government achieves nothing. Do you believe America has achieved a mass leftist movement capable of overthrowing the govt?
Unless you are in China, Cuba, Vietnam, or NK you really don't have a valid platform to criticize a people not overthrowing their government, have you partaken in the overthrow of your government/do you agree with your government?

Nobody defended the Republicans, in fact the premise of the comment you are replying to is about how bad the Republicans are and how they need to be resisted.

The only reason you would want to be disarmed, is so that you have an excuse for your passivity.
I think that if "death of the artist" was applicable to any piece of art, then the art would therefore be the equivalent of AI art.
Art by it's very nature is influenced by someone's views and beliefs.
The only possible exception is that some artists may drastically change their views later and even denounce previous work.
Edit: I also think it's worth pointing out that you can like the way someone represents/expresses their viewpoints even if you disagree with said viewpoints, you just have to be aware of the viewpoints presence and potential effects.

We are in the early stages of WW3. Loose allyships are already being revealed.
With the widening rift between the US and China, I imagine Taiwan will become a hot issue soon as well.
That's probably the tipping point at which, allyships will start to be formed more concretely as China has been trying to stay out of things for the most part so far.
It also needs to (and seems on the path to) be destroyed in its current form.
With global trade inevitably shifting away from the unstable US, Military embarrassments against small impoverished organizations like the houthis, and diplomacy entirely built around leveraging those 2 things....it seems much more likely the US turns into a nuclear armed former superpower than that it maintains it's global status and changes to actually use said status for good.
