  • I am also replacing reddit for news. I currently find it a bit tedious to see the same post on 2 or 3 different sites, however, there are not too many subscribers so I go with it.

I have noticed more interactions with some of the bot posts. If I see at least one comment I check it out and have started engaging that way.

Everything has to find the right rhythm. This takes time (and sometimes duplicate posts).

  • I migrated from Reddit. Most of the communities I followed would be hours or days between posts (if they were not private). Everything left was just not pleasant.

I am still fumbling around here but for the most part it is has better discussions and people seem less rude.

I do not regret leaving at this time. I am sure my infinitesimal presence or lack there of does not bother Reddit, but it made me feel better.

  • Is Multireddits the correct term...? Being able to categorize my feeds instead of just having everything lumped together in "Subscribed".'

The rest is just taking a bit of time to adjust to. Currently takes a bit longer to research something, though I find my need for answers on Reddit itself is growing less and less!

  • Is it truly just download and use?

I ask because I am not a tech person. I do not understand how to read or write code, what settings are the ones you need to safely change, etc.

I would happily try Librewolf if the browser is as simple as downloading

  • The part about PHP and Rust, the differences of which is the better code?/foundation?

Most of my confusion lies with which instance is the better option as a whole. Is PHP not as reliable as Rust even thought Rust is new? I can not read code so I have no idea what any of that means.

Apologies for my ineptness. I would like to understand better.

  • After reading these comments since I also wanted to know the differences, I have determined I am still "technologically challenged". I basically understood the punctuation.

You know you are old when you think there should be something like a "Technology and Federation for Dummies"!!
