This brings a smile to my face. My stocks are somehow all steady. The smile is not for those like me losing out. It for all those rich 1-3% who it really hurts. When the orange tumor and his apartheid nazi loses their support then perhaps we can do something that doesn't equate to civil war.

Yesterday I showed a local business owner how he could set up the signboards and menus in his shop using a raspberry pi. The guy is a windows guy. the second he saw the boot screen he balked. I told him they needed to be set up one time and the rest of the time he could manage them with a windows program (winscp). I don't expect to hear back.

They fear CLI.

Another local guy had a huge archive of forestry images. They were all folders that had been renamed for the location and time they were taken but underneath they were all the standard filenames you get from a digital camera. It was nearly twenty years of pictures and he was getting five figure quotes to rename them all to match the folder names. I told him I could build a script to do it so he brought me one of his backups and I promptly did it using CLI before I was going to build a script. The next day he calls to say he talked it over with one of his vendors and they decided to drop their price down to a two thousand dollars. He wasn't interesting in me doing it. I hung up and a few years later when he called me to come fix something someone had messed up I hung up again.

I have no doubt the people he was talking to did something similar probably using bash scripts. So now when I tell someone I can sort out their file naming or some other sorting task I don't let them see how I do it.

Grew to adulthood in the mist of having my promised future stolen by a D list actor and a oil baron. Only have to them replaced by a guy who signed a treaty that allowed all manufacturing leave for the countries north and south of me. By the time we arrived at oil baron jr being in charge the future was certain and the name expresses the truth of that certainty.

Bring on the cheap non windows 11 computers. I've already told everyone i know if they didn't want to have to buy another computer for years they just had to start using linux. Then I show them what that looks like if they are interested. I show them that they can put menu/start button at the bottom left if thats what they want. That they can have a the same browser they use and many of the same applications. I've had two people willing to try. Most insist that they don't want to learn anything new. Its depressing but its a boon for me when people start getting rid of their perfectly usable gear.

In my younger years I was blessed with the ability to hold my breath for nearly five minutes. I used to stay down so long people would get worried. I never did anything other than take a full breath. Hyperventilating always shortened my dive times.

One of the two people I know who have been to china had their phone taken for hours when they arrived. The other person reported much the same experience as you. The friend who had her phone taken was a US citizen but born of Chinese immigrants. The other who didn't get their phone taken was not. I can't help but think that her parents status there had something to do with.

I really don't want to hold tesla drivers responsible for that degenerate. Having said that the tesla driver who tried to go around me yesterday as the lane was closing and nearly got me involved in a collision with a oncoming cement truck can fuck right off. I'm sure there are many more just like them.

I have to imagine that but I've done the same thing in a river too muddy to see one foot in front of you. It always feels wonderful. Somewhere in that back brain of ours is a genetic memory of peace and happiness.

Trump is gearing up to purge but there are way too many guns in this country for that. His solution will be to start taking peoples guns. Finally despot gun control.
