  • At a quick glance, cromite apparently intends to be much stricter on security and privacy, over usability.

  • I will never choose system76, they are strictly murica-centric (until the name lol) and don't respect their potential customers from the rest of the world. Almost all of their laptops are simply clevo with another logo, but even then they don't deign to offer something as extremely basic as keyboards in other languages, even if they are available from their vendor.

Also, in the stores that preset linux there is usually a bad quality-price ratio, but system76 is particularly expert in this. Special mention to the mediocre mechanical keyboard (only for murica, obviously) they designed, 200-300$.

The only good thing I can currently say about them is that they have some open firmware (coreboot, basically), but it's not even that remarkable. Not only are there several companies in the competition that also do it, but it's even the case of tiny ones with a couple of employees like novacustom.

  • The pharmaceutical companies would definitely not cut back on their profits, so at "best" they would either get public money to make it several times faster, or they would cut back on quality and safety (lobbies have entered the chat); and in either case the final price would be higher.
There is plenty of room to get worse, even in the current favorable conditions they prioritize known cost-effective palliative treatments over research into expensive solutions that may lead to nothing.

If the entire health sector were public and concerned itself with saving lives instead of making money, it would be a different story, but that is where we get into major reforms.

  • These changes alone (without other major reforms) would be particularly catastrophic in sectors that require large investment over a long period of time. For example, pharmaceuticals typically cost billions and take 10-15 years to develop.

  • The only person on this planet who cracks denuvo :D

She is a misandric, homophobic, transphobic, extremely irascible, conflictive, psychotic, rude, narcissistic, paranoid, conspiratorial, liar and a long etcetera that probably includes schizophrenia and drugs. Oh, and she has a cult, she is multifaceted ¯(ツ)

  • In general the integration of flatpak is quite good (even more if we compare it with snap), but there are still some gaps. In this case there are some solutions like this one.

  • Anonchatgpt should stop being recommended, it really sucks. It has a VERY strict character limit, immediately forget/ignore the context, requires recaptcha, and the "anon" part of the name is obviously fake if you read the privacy policy.

  • Denuvo anti-tamper does not use rootkits.

  • Many users seem to think that the only problem is nvidia, but it's not true, app compatibility is still a very noticeable problem sometimes.
For example, as far as I know there are still no on-screen keyboards, except for those integrated into desktops, if they have them at all.

  • and we won’t collect any usage data without your awareness and consent first

If it really requires explicit and informed consent, then that's ok.
