  • Where are leftists denying genocide? I've never heard a leftist deny a genocide, ever.

The reason horseshoe theory only makes sense if you don't think about it is because it is entirely and completely surface level. A good recent example is that both the far left and the far right want to end the country of Isreal. So if you hear someone on the far left say "I don't think Isreal should exist" and someone on the far right say "I don't think Isreal should exist", if you don't think about it, you would conclude "wow they want the same thing! HORSESHOOOOEEE!!!"

When the reality is that the right doesn't want Isreal to exist because they hate Jews and don't want Jews to exist, and the left doesn't want Isreal to exist because Isreal is a genocidal apartheid settler colonial state. The left's viewpoints have nothing to do with the ethnicity of the people who live in Isreal, and the right's viewpoints have nothing to do with the actions of the country of Isreal. Therefore any actions taken by the right or the left towards their statement of "I don't think Isreal should exist" would be entirely and completely different. Although they're saying the same thing on the surface, literally 1 second of thought is all it takes to realize "oh those are actually entirely different things."

So if you think a leftist is denying a genocide somewhere and you start crying "MUH HORSESHOE THEORY" it just means you haven't spent any time thinking about it. I bet if you did think about it you'd learn something.

  • Horseshoe theory only makes sense if you don't think about it for even one second.

So, not surprised it makes total sense to you

  • You got to be a leftiest to be in a leftiest place, and you're clearly just a reactionary.

  • Libs will argue endlessly about exactly how MUCH damage will be done without realizing their energy should instead be spent on finding ways to stop it.

Of course that would cost shareholders their value so it'll never happen

  • Working as designed. The US government can now just go after groups with those weapons and use the justification of "look, they're armed and dangerous!!!" to do it. And the cycle of invading and destroying countries for profit continues.

  • Is "American Security" going to pay off my student loan debts? How about my rent? How about for my medication this month?

    No?

    Then fuck off.

  • How about instead of giving money to private companies in the hopes that they build housing you give that money to people so they can afford to live in all the housing that already exists.

Why do libs always make this shit more complicated than it needs to be

  • Damn that's some pretty smart bread

  • I choose the Scroll of Konsi. When someone picks it up and reads it, the text changes and says something that makes them surprised.

  • No see it's not literally exactly 100 years or greater so you can't use a world like century long because that would be inaccurate. I'm going to ignore literally everything else about the post and just focus on the fact that you used one slightly exaggerated word instead because I have no other leg to stand on

  • Well, he's still going to the runoff. And the guy he's running off with isn't THAT much better from the sounds of things.

But still good that he's not an instant win.

  • Ah, only Hamas has an agenda huh. IDF doesn't have an agenda, Netanyahu doesn't have an agenda, the US government and associated media organizations don't have an agenda...only Hamas has the agenda huh.

  • Sometimes too it's that the right and the left come to similar sounding conclusions but for entirely different reasons. I think the Isreal/Palestine conflict is a great example. Both the right and the left agree that Isreal is bad, so it sounds like we "agree". However the right thinks Isreal is bad because they hate Jews, whereas the left thinks Isreal is bad because we hate genocidal apartheid states. So although it sounds like we agree because we both say "Isreal bad", the reality is that our viewpoints couldn't be more different, and as a result what we mean when we say "Isreal bad" are actually completely different things.

I think you will find this is true for a lot of things that perhaps you think sound conservative on Hexbear. It's why people think that the horseshoe theory of political viewpoints is valid; because they hear something high level that sounds similar between two seemingly different groups and just immediately jump to "well they must be the same!" rather than investigate why two different groups might be saying something that sounds similar. So if you see something you aren't sure about I would suggest you ask about it rather than jump to an incorrect conclusion about it. Lots of opportunity to learn even if you don't agree.

  • I'd love to know why you think we're conservative. Or some examples of conservatism being supported on Hexbear

  • Why provide healthcare when we can provide death and destruction instead!

  • For the Emporker!

  • Israel showing more and more that they are exactly like Western "democracy" by silencing dissenters

  • Honestly this is a really good thing. Imagine how much money this will bring into the economy. You can choose to die from covid, or take out a predatory healthcare loan for this drug. Most people will choose to go into massive debt just to stay alive, and the economy could really use that cash injection right now to prevent a recession from happening. Just think of how much shareholder value locking a critically lifesaving drug behind such a high price tag will create.

  • You're talking about how Isreal has spent the last 50 years doing a large scale violent apartheid on the Palestinian people right? That's gotta be the thing you're talking about here, because anything else would frankly be ridiculous.
