Captcha was actually started in the 1800s by Sir William Captcha of Berkshire, England, as a means-tested way of ensuring that only people cut from a certain cloth could enter his estate.
The entrance to his estate would pass the Bridge of Death where his infamous Keeper of the Bridge, Elon Musk, would stop people with his famous line "Who would cross the Bridge of Death must answer me these questions three, ere the other side he see!"
I've seen LLM NPC's and whilst they're still far from being convincing, I don't imagine it'll take too long for them to get there.
I can't wait for a GTA style game (maybe even GTA itself) where I can just walk by someone on the street and have a completely normal dialogue with an NPC. Or even just start shit by yelling at people or causing beef between two of them by suggesting one insulted the other.
Slightly different, but I stopped playing Rocket League not long after they abandoned all the cool weird arenas because it got boring playing exactly the same map with a different skin.
They standardised the arenas after listening to what the pro players wanted.
I remember famously that during the blackout of New York in 2003, 911 took a number of calls from concerned citizens that were strange lights in the sky. They were stars.
I suddenly want to play Championship Manager. Couldn't possibly tell you why.
