  • I found this government report on the Canadian Field Vegetable Industry

Tomatoes are the most popular field vegetable grown in Canada making up 23.9% of production. That equates to around 543,000 tonnes produced per year. 98% of all tomatoes are grown in Ontario and most tomatoes are used in "processing". However, Canada is one of the top importers of vegetables in the world with tomatoes being 5th place in most imported vegetable. An additional 177,000 tonnes are imported (mostly from Mexico and USA) to supply demand.

So while we produce a lot, it still isn't enough to cover domestic consumption. I'm sure we could make domestic ketchup, but it would be taking away from tomatoes already being used somewhere else in Canada.

  • Rushing your decisions is a common red flag in scams. I'd say it's probably enough of a red flag to stop talking with them. You can try to slow play things and if they continue to hound you then it's almost certainly a scam. They're probably going to do something like:

Ask you for money to purchase things you'll need for your job (MLM/pyramid scheme)

Give you a large cheque, ask you to cash it, give a certain amount of the cash to someone, and keep the rest for yourself (cheque fraud).

  • Requesting to be paid in nonsequential bills is something only a criminal would do, so the joke is that the purchase is illegal.

The idea is that if the person paying you is a cop, they'd give you bills they can track down later. I'm not sure if that's actually done in real life. Apparently a large percentage of printed cash is used for illegal deals, so I dont think criminals are too concerned about being traced by their cash transactions.

  • That said, I ultimately think the 4k, 144+ fps gamers running expensive GPUs are offended that they can't play this one on the highest settings, and are review bombing the hell out of this title.

I can understand. I haven't played this game but I do have an expensive rig. If turning on dynamic lighting causes the game to stutter, then the dynamic lighting feature is broken. That's not my machine's fault. I don't know exactly what settings aren't working, but it seems like there are a few nobody can actually use. Negative reviews for a game with broken features is justified.
