Gather around kids, story time.
It was 2002 and I had a desktop pc with two video cards, one Matrox with dual video output (they were pretty much the only consumer ones with that at the time) on AGP slot, and one "something" (probably ATI, it still had and RCA port) on PCI. So I installed gentoo (from stage1, as it was custom at the time) and fiddled around with xorg.conf to have two monitors output from the Matrox and a third (yes, I had 3 monitors) from the ATI.
That's when I understood the power of Linux (no way win2000 was able to do that).
So if I get this right: live with others with society moral constraints, or live by (mostly) by yourself and do the fuck you want?
2 is tempting but I know after a while it's going to be a problem (I like being by myself but it's not healthy).
So I'd take 1 with holidays on 2. Unless I can also decide population on 2. I don't need "loved ones", I'd like someone to have a drink and do stuff IRL with sometimes.
Well I only had one atari console, the one to play pong/tennis/squash on it with the rotating knob controls. Not sure if that qualify for a Atari dump 😅
I haven't seen this in maybe 20 years. I printed it out at the time (on a dot matrix printer!) And read it to anyone who would listen to me. Thank you for bringing it up again.
That's just being human.
I think it was Mark Twain that said "nobody is completely sad when their best friend fails"
