I think the various authors who are saying that it echoes new deal in style aren’t taking about scale. You are focused on that.
The new deal created massive government work corp jobs to tackle problems that governance is supposed to address. This creates similar style of work corp albeit much smaller, only 20,000 high paying jobs. But scale is not the only thing that matters when comparing things. And I think it’s a tad cynical, comical, and smug to say you’d give “all the journalist” an “F.” Pretty much every article I’ve read has made the comparison. “New deal style” is a common term, and is never reference about size or scale.
I give your awareness of the standard current events news jargon an F.
But hey, whatever we’re all on the message board doing the same thing as you. I’m no better.
Also: It’s funny how we always talk about headlines on social media, and never the content of the bills/orders or articles.
In the United States (for example) every single terrorist attack or politically motivated murder in 2022 was committed by right wingers. Zero we’re committed by left wingers.
There’s something wrong with the right wing ideology at this point. It’s a where violent idiots and nut jobs go.
When wearing a mask from time to time for a few months in certain places is your life’s persecution story you know you’re a spoiled diva.
Only one variant had mask requirements btw. And it was while millions of people were dying and out hospitals were at max capacity, and people without Covid couldn’t get basic treatment.
We won’t need them to work the land. And we will starve them as they’ll no longer be needed. There will be two classes. The ruling class, and the maintenance class. And it’s timing is perfect considering that in about 100 years every population model says humans will go from 10 billion to less than 1 billion as quickly as our population grew. And it will coincide with extreme scarcity due to climate change. Unless we start nuclear war first, of course.
Generational wealth gap is an undisputed economic reality, especially when comparing any generation to boomers. Boomers have acquired more wealth by ever age benchmark than any generation to ever exist.
And pensions were very common decades ago. Now they’re mostly gone:
No. That’s not what I was saying. I’m saying that when a cow dies it’s one death. When a field of the same volume in terms of nutrition is harvested it’s many deaths.
Beef is worse in the long run for the water and energy use, but not in terms of slaughter.
Ya I feel pretty lucky tbh. Bought a house 2.6%. And the value of my home has gone up tremendously, meanwhile the value of my principal has been slashed. Timing feels criminal. Unfortunately most people aren’t so lucky, and I am very aware that benefiting from a crisis.
I simply had the worst sore throat I’ve ever had. No congestion. Then I lost my sense of smell for about 6 months. That was awful. Very grateful it came back.
Hunter Biden “provided a written statement on Form 4473 certifying he was not an unlawful user of, and addicted to, any stimulant, narcotic drug, and any other controlled substance, when in fact, as he knew, that statement was false and fictitious,” according to the indictment.
I don’t disagree, but in pulp fiction the use of these slurs lends to a pretty accurate portrayal of criminal underworld, and people generally, being very casually racist/homophobic in LA/Long Beach in the late 80s and early 90s. I grew up in that area in that time, and it felt pretty spot on in that movie.
