Using a discussion forum moderated by someone is a completely different thing than using code written by them. A mod or admin of an instance has power to shape discussion on that instance.

I'm not going to weigh in on the defederation issue. I don't use enough .ml communities to know how this guy's views reflect in the moderation policies of the instance. But fuck him in particular.
The problem with moving to another server software is that there's a much bigger developer ecosystem around Lemmy. Other projects simply can't match that.
Like, there are multiple Lemmy clients in Google Play and F-Droid, for example. There isn't even one for PieFed in either store.

A lot of what I hear from social media and from friends and family that have tried them is how poor the build quality of Teslas is, how un-fun they are to drive, and how the focus on flash over practicality leads to a car that can be dangerous in an emergency situation. My local Scheels is not on there. In fact, relatively few local businesses are, which is surprising since I live in a pretty red state (though the city is pretty purple, and only getting bluer as time goes on).
