I don't really dislike the furry instances, I just don't want to see their content. They don't actively annoy me the way others do.

My impression of the Trump campaign is that they understood what issues their support base cared about, and did very well at talking about those issues.

Things like the economy, cost of living, crime etc were front and centre of their campaigns, and things like immigration ultimately stem from those issues.

Whether they actually make anything better is another question, but they definitely knew what to say.

They advertise on TV, they have ads on bus shelters, they give interviews on commercial radio and TV stations. Even systems like emergency broadcast systems use cellular networks and TV and radio stations run by private companies.

Even government websites are seldom hosted on their own servers.

Using a third party website specifically set up to communicate short, sharp, and to the point messaging as one way of getting information out is just sensible.
