  • Voyager is perfect as is.

Except for the scrolling issue on iOS. If they don’t figure out a way to resolve that, I don’t care how many features they keep adding, I’m out. I’ve been tolerating it so far, and everybody keeps hand waving it away with “it’s a limitation of safari” and “all you have to do is not touch the screen for a second and it works like normal”. Uhh…no. This needs to be fixed. Once people have multiple other options, that don’t have this hindrance, (and honestly, I think we’re probably well past that point already) I can’t imagine too many people wanting to use this app vs literally any other choice.

  • It depends on if you’re talking about left vs right politicians or left vs right political viewpoints. If you’re talking about viewpoints, I absolutely disagree with what you’re saying. If you’re talking about politicians, especially in the US, then sadly, you’re mostly correct. The left say they want to make tons of changes but when push comes to shove, there’s enough money in politics to stop any real changes from happening no matter which party is supposedly in charge.

  • I like how the devs are just busting their asses to get this app working with basic functionality, and then people casually stroll up and practically demand these intense massive features like it’s no big deal.

  • As I’ve said multiple times now, this isn’t the wonkyness that I and almost everyone else has been experiencing since the beginning of the app. This is different. The content isn’t loading at all after scrolling a bit, and after using it for a few minutes it basically reaches a point where nothing will load and the pages are blank and you have to reset the app. This only started on both of my devices once I installed the betas.

  • Nah, I was having that before I updated to the beta. This is definitely not that. I can load up the All feed and scroll down a page or two and then hit the “bottom” where no more posts load, then I try to scroll back up and it’s stuck on that page of posts. Then sometimes it will scroll without loading anything at all so I’m just scrolling a blank page and it gets stuck again so it’s just a blank page with nothing on it. It’s not mildly annoyingly janky, it’s like, completely unusable janky. But like I said, I am seeing similar behavior in other 1st party apps, so it’s almost certainly nothing that Voyager is doing wrong.

  • That’s a good question. I think, kinda like politics in real life, the people that would make the best moderators are the ones that have very little desire to do it while often times the ones that do want it are the worst suited.

Someone once made me a moderator of a ~30,000 subscriber subreddit without me asking and I hated every second of it. All I ever tried to do make the place as good as possible and enforce the rules in place. I got praised for being a good mod, but just as often I got called a power tripping asshole by people who didn’t want to follow the rules. You really can’t win, and honestly I wouldn’t want to even try to moderate again. It takes up too much of your time, you get almost nothing from it and even when all you are doing is trying to do your best, you still end up being hated by some people. It’s just not worth the hassle.

  • Hmm. That seems to have worked. I wouldn’t have thought so since, as the other person that replied to you said, I thought all the browsers used the same engine on iOS. Maybe they changed some Safari specific things in iOS 17.

  • If this gets implemented, I hope it’s an option we can turn off because I don’t plan on subscribing to many places so I would hate to have almost 100% of the communities I see be highlighted.
