  • Hey assclown, I was asking about their service. I even said I would love to switch to another company for a multitude of reasons, but they are the only provider in my area that provides reliable service. They are literally the only company that has a tower close enough to my work to penetrate the walls and work inside so almost everyone there is forced to have them if they want them or not.

Chill with your condescending holier than thou attitude about what I do and don’t know. I was referring directly to the service, which, all other issues aside, has been absolutely great for me across the period of 23 years and half a dozen different cities of varying sizes.

  • I'm not affected by this outage where I'm at,

This didn’t appear to be location based. I’m on a family vacation with 7 total people on AT&T and 3 of us were affected and 4 were fine. Didn’t have anything to do with the model of phone, the plan you were on, or your location/tower you were connected to. Seemed to just straight up be random. Also a reboot fixed one phone, but not the other 2.

  • Is AT&T known for having shitty service nationwide or something or is this just a “big company bad durhur” meme? Where I live, they’re easily the best of the big carriers. I’d love to switch to someone else, but they have the best coverage by far and I honestly can’t remember the last time I had a service outage. I despise them as a company, but I can’t complain a bit about their service and I’ve had an account with them since 2001.

  • no one ever said it couldn't be done

I mean, when it was released, pretty much so everyone DID say that it couldn’t be done. Or at least that it would be extremely difficult without official support. It kinda looks like that’s the case.

  • Any chance you could add the ability to browse the all feed from the watch app? I don’t really subscribe to many communities so the feed on my watch is rather bare. I prefer to browse all in the app, would be amazing to be able to do the same on my watch.

  • Bail

    Jump
  • Yeah, that’s not really what bail is and this will confuse people who don’t know.

Paying bail money doesn’t reduce time off your sentence, it makes it to where you don’t have to spend the duration of your trial in jail. After the trial, you’ll still have to spend the same amount of time in jail as you would have if you paid bail or not. Also, you get back your bail money at the end of trial as long as you don’t flee.

  • You actually can use Stremio on iOS devices just fine. After you set it up using this guide just go to web.stremio.com on your iOS device, log in, and add that shortcut to your home page. You’ll also need to install VLC (for free) or Outplayer (I think it was $10, but worth every penny) and there’s really no way that I can tell that it isn’t a native app from the App Store.

  • It’s not the knowledge that I need, it’s mostly the time and desire to set up all that stuff and maintain it and keep it working and constantly needing to track what the latest and greatest version of whatever platform or software that is out there. It’s the same reason I don’t jailbreak my phone or hack my consoles anymore. Sometimes it’s nice to just buy a thing that works out of the box and use it as its intended.

  • I used to be into that sort of tinkering and custom install/configuring of all sorts of software. I probably still have 2-3 flircs in a drawer somewhere.

These days I just want to be able to buy something, plug it in, and have it work. The idea of installing a plex/jellyfin server and a custom OS on a pi might as well be the same as getting a 4 year degree at this point. I’m sure it works out great for loads of people, but it’s definitely not something I’m interested in.
