  • Mythbusters did a bit on that. I seem to recall that unless you've got an MRI in your pocket, it should be fine.

  • It's good on paper, so long as a critical number of them aren't bad actors. You kinda got the same problem with US politics at the moment. It works until it doesn't, like everything else.

  • Technically that's what a board of directors is for. They are the ones who can axe a CEO and hire another.

  • Smith and Ford give enthusiastic, limp-wristed waves.

  • If people could pay double, things would cost double. Quality likely wouldn't change.

  • It is the employees responsibility to make sure the store looks nice, sure. It's basic human decency to respect people and not make them do bullshit tasks because you're too lazy to put in the bare minimum.

You'd be agitated too if someone came to your work, threw all your shit on the floor and walked away. Now it's your problem to deal with, but it didn't need to be. Someone decided they wanted to choose being a cancer on society and make it your problem.

  • I don't think they're worried about the logic of it. Logic doesn't really matter when you're getting sued, and the media industry are a litigious bunch. Being in the right doesn't matter if you go bankrupt defending yourself.

  • Never profits, always revenue. Profits can be gobbled up by some internal bonus or "future investment in a project", thus making it $0. Revenue is all the money generated before allocations and expenses come out. Much harder to weasle out of.

  • I had one about a decade ago after my HTC Magic. Didn't like it, never went back. My mother keeps buying them and is infinitely frustrated. She'll also ask for help and I have no idea what to tell her. They move all the settings around, so it's next to impossible to understand unless you already know it.

I know we're not doing Sony here, but the Xperia Performance X was the most amazing phone I've ever seen. Glass slate phone dropped out of a god damned car on the highway at 120km/h. Chipped a corner and went on the work for another 2 years. Same phone went through a foam and mud obstacle course run in no case. Dirt and water wedger in every square inch of the thing, still worked for another 3 years, although the camera lenses did have some water in it (camera still worked though!). Only phone I've ever been impressed by.

  • I used to really enjoy drinking, but had to stop for an auto immune treatment. Then the treatment stopped and... I never really went back. I'll have the occasional beer or whiskey because I do really enjoy them, but it hits different now. When I drink, I usually will just get something really nice, enjoy it for longer than I should and leave it at that. Weed, on the other hand....

  • My union kicks ass, and always has my back. Blanket statements are useless my dude.

That said, POLICE unions are a bit of a special case. They seem to be.... Parasitic to society.

  • Searches their database for a coupon code whenever it detects you're on a store checkout page, then blasts all the coupon codes into the little box rapid fire. Sometimes it works, usually it doesn't. PayPal then collects your browsing data through the plugin and sells it off.

  • I think they were saying that RIF and Apollo nuked their own API keys, so they specifically will never work

  • People quit managers, they don't quit jobs.

  • It's the port for a Minecraft Java server.
