  • Whether it's one continent or two, the point is that it's bigger than the United States. At least I've always studied that Americans are people who live in America, either from Canada, United States, Mexico, Cuba, Nicaragua, Argentina... Then you can divide them between North Americans and South Americans.

  • That's exactly what happens to me when I tell them America is a continent. Like, WTF?

  • There is a polandball community on Lemmy, but it doesn't seem very active :(

  • I miss the Reichtangle.

  • Besides, I don't think those are good manners to address a neurodivergent person (ADHD/ASD).

  • You're not answering my question.

  • Do you know that it's a really bad thing calling names to a neurodivergent person (ADHD/ASD)?

  • I don't see the Russian flag anywhere to talk about a far-right regime. Do you?

  • It's not polarizing when I don't see tankies polarizing it :P

On Kbin, I don't see much European politics, unfortunately.

  • Yes. After some self thinking about this topic, I realized that my concern is not about politics in general. My concern is about US politics and its big polarization, and about that fight between capitalism and communism. I wouldn't mind politics focused on other countries or Europe, and without that polarization.

  • There are already, like antiquememeroadshow, adhdmemes and mymouldymemes. But the most generic meme communities, or the flagship meme communities if you prefer it that way, are infected.

  • Specially politics. Even meme communities are becoming a politics cesspool, at least that meme community of lemmy.ml, or 196 of lemmy.blahaj.zone (in a lesser way, but still), or gaming communities. Damn, do I have to block every single community of every single instance to really enjoy lemmy/kbin without being bombarded 24 hours with politics? And the funny/sad thing is that moderators and administrators don't even care.

  • Need a politics-free safe space? It’s called “going for a walk”

Unfortunately, walks don't last forever. Another option is to delete your lemmy/kbin account, because everything in these places is politics or related to politics or turned into politics.

  • How can we make it more popular?

Defederating tankies, nazis, fascists, bigots and other awful elements; forcing moderators and administrators to do their job when bad behaviours occur, and respectfully disagree with other people instead of calling them names or mocking them.

  • Damn. I wouldn't even be able to imagine where he would send her if that was a FreeBSD household.

  • There is no shame in coming in second, except when you're composed by antimatter.

  • [...] an entire birthday cake

    Those are rookie numbers.

  • I'm not talking about them performing a coup. Although I don't like coups, they're property of nobody but themselves, and eventually democracy will return.

But French troops doing bad stuff, or doing neither bad nor good stuff (that's doing nothing at all), that doesn't mean they should be replaced by another foreign nation troops, being either private or not. If we agree that African nations are sovereign enough to decide their own future, they're also sovereign enough to defend themselves, or to ask for help to neighbouring countries in exchange of nothing. But in the countries we're talking about, they asked for help to another potential colonial nation in exchange of natural resources, that could be manufactured in place, thus creating employment, wealth and other benefits.
