  • There should be a way to block or hide specific topics, like it can be done on Mastodon. The only way I see is to unsubscribe from communities/magazines where the Threads topic is or can be discussed.

  • Defederating must be based on facts and evidences, not on imagination.

  • Just to add more information or context to your answer, this site exists, so instead of people arguing about "Lemmy sucks on privacy" or "This place is a hell hole for anonymity", maybe people should rethink about what they're going to write.

  • I had to change my intake from breakfast to lunch. Because I eat different things everyday, I think I'm not at risk of feeling disgust. It worked today, let's see the next days.

  • The only thing I used reddit for was to lurk, see photos, upvote and read some comments or posts. I was barely active during this couple of years with a new account, after deleting an old one. Sometimes I saw it, and still see it, difficult for me to be active because of karma, some kind of polarization or toxicity, even on safe subreddits.

The good thing is that here, karma is non existent. Yes, you can upvote or downvote posts and comments, but those votes don't go to you as karma, so you're not affected. And that really helps neurodivergent people, as it's my case too (rejection sensitive dysphoria, I think it's called, one comorbidity of ADHD).

So, yes, fuck Reddit, and I'll stay here as long as it lasts.

  • According to another user on that reddit post, the dev is raising funds for a new web based on reddit, called Tildes.net.

  • There's obviously a strong leftist culture here

That depends on what instance you create an user on. For example, Lemmygrad.ml and Lemmy.ml are not the same thing, despite both belonging to Lemmy. The issues I see are having a tankie culture, and not having more points of view.

There are less users so less content

That's something we can help with, although it's not so easy. I mean, the users that are already here, we can create more content and interact more with each other, so eventually more users will come. It can be boring and tiring, but it's not impossible.

Federation is a stumbling block for many people

That's something absolutely new for the vast majority of people. I felt myself confused the first time I joined the fediverse too. But after some time, I felt myself less confused. Some clarifications, tutorials and support can do the real trick.

  • After a couple of months doing photosynthesis, my ADHD medication finally decided to allow me to study this morning. But no more than 90 minutes. Now I'm again in my endless scrolling and doing nothing productive.

Besides that, I'm trying to be more active in kbin.social / lemmy instances to create more content through comments or post and engage, knowing the inevitable doom from Reddit (although I have an user on sopuli since last year).
