  • Not really AAA at all, no.

  • Man I hate these fucking headlines. The race is insanely close and news headlines like this aren't helping that. It just helps reinforce Trump's narrative that media outlets are irrationally out to smear him.

  • The centipedes have learned to draw. Not gonna fool me.

  • KDE bricked my install on my main desktop after updating to the latest LTS too. No idea how that happens. I'm on opensuse leap now.

  • My brother in law does this. Gets so close that you can't see the rear tires of the car ahead, going 80+ mph. He's been in multiple wrecks, including one where he totaled his custom BMW and almost died. He blamed the other driver (somewhat reasonably, they were drunk, but he was driving like a psycho), and refuses to change any of his driving habits.

He also used to street race in Florida, with his family in the car. No, they did not consent to it, they're just too scared of him to say anything.

  • I leave 2-3 seconds following distance minimum on interstate highways.

  • Maybe it's that prices are increasing? But that's across the board.

  • Oh, well that changes everything then /s

  • It's an AI image. There's a lot of impossible patterns and geometry here. Look at the floor under the rock and the pattern on the bedsheets lol. Also the ceiling is curving and the rock would be clipping into the wall from this perspective.

  • Commercial flights will all be fully booked for months at least. The only realistic way for most Americans in Lebanon will likely be evacuation.

  • Smart TVs are designed to surveil you, a media center PC can be used however you want. Flash Linux and run Jellyfin and torrent everything through a VPN, then nothing can track you.

  • Yep, it was my personal, password-protected network. Either someone reconnected it (unlikely, I live with my gf who doesn't use the TV) or it just cached the password until it decided to spy on my again 🙃

  • I have definitely had to forget networks, then have them connect to that network weeks later at random, then having to forget the network again. Don't know how that's legal.

  • Do not connect your Smart TVs to network people, seriously. Just a bad idea. Use a media center PC or some other device that allows you to stream content, and make sure the TV itself is just a big monitor, nothing more.

  • I would be fine with it if it were a privacy-respecting platform that was subscription-based first and foremost, then had an ad-supported tier as well, but unfortunately it's owned by Google so they're collecting untold troves of data even from paid subscribers and that's the actual product for them.

  • And when you point that out to the AI, those code snippets get replaced with even more spaghetti that is maybe 1% closer to actually working, at best. Been there!

  • Stochastic terrorism needs to have more severe criminal penalties for career politicians specifically. Right-wing figureheads have been getting away with this shit for too long.

We're now penalizing the parents of school shooters, so if we find out that someone who threatens to bomb a school is a super fan of X person, then X person should face some sort of penalty if they continually put out deliberate lies about said school. We did a version of this with Alex Jones already, just follow through with that logic honestly.

  • Everything should have physical buttons because touchscreens don't have haptic feedback and therefore demand more attention, which should be focused on the road. Physical buttons can be controlled via muscle memory much more quickly.

For HVAC, not all automatic systems are created equal and some people just prefer to adjust temps and fans manually.
