Extreme poverty definitely, but if you're just below the poverty line then sugary foods are typically still cheap enough to buy.

I dislike how common certain tropes are, how overacted it is, and how formulaic most of the stories are. I also hate Shounen and its focus on which guy is strongest. It's boring to me.

Sometimes this isn't possible if the machine needs to stay up to temp, like with plastic injection molders. In those cases, the operation can usually be stopped by a padlock placed somewhere on the controls. There's usually training about it for everyone involved to make sure they know what's up.
