I'm always slightly leary of channel blockers. But if it was just approved, that means it's been going through trials and reviews for several years. I'm assuming that this has passed rigorous review for safety and efficacy, so I'm cautiously optimistic that this will be a great tool and not found to be a horrible drug five years down the road.

If the Chinese economy does collapse, it will be very painful for the world economy for a few decades. But after everyone gets used to the new normal, it will be better in the long run.

Short term, the western world no longer has a billion people producing goods for low pay.

Long term, a collapse of the Chinese military means all of their neighbors can breath easier.

It's disappointing but not surprising. Florida did the same after voters approved restoring released felons' voting rights.
