  • Yes. I was a bit stunned years ago to find there were two incompatible breeds of tp-link smart switches etc. Ended up going with Arlec / Grid Connect instead.

  • Why? While it's an energy intensive process to launch all these satellites, it's probably a lot less than the environmental cost of running a fibre connection to every customer who uses this service. Sure Musk is a bit dodgy, but he's not the majority owner of Starlink.

  • To copy Spotify?

Or to satiate the soul harvester at the Google Graveyard.

  • A jetpack operation. jumps about

  • Isn't there supposed to be a cylinder, a green flash in the sky and a green mist?

  • It might still be less environmentally damaging that running fibre to every starlink customer. That's a lot of manufacturing and digging.

  • It's arguably less environmentally damaging to use starlink rather than to run a fixed fibre line to each rural property.

  • In on starlink because it's now the only half decent option. There is a fairly strong 4g tower reception but it's underprovisioned and gives less than 3mbps downloads. 25 up though. We did have ADSL for a long time but they've shut that network down.

I'm on a farm 15km from town in hilly terrain.

  • It's always fun getting paid by Google for not being a parent to a child in my household.

Is funny how often they ask.

They seem to check if I'm still married each month as well. Easy money.

  • Because Chrome stuffed up my task bar icons one time too many. (eg two Gmail icons, once for each account - randomly start working as bookmarks instead of their own window.) Fixing that takes many attempts

Firefox can't do this at all, but an extension fixed that.

  • I found it a bit tedious having to build a new version whenever it broke. It's a bit less convenient but now I just click stare then Newpipe sponsorblock.

  • Some google searches have led me there, but that's it.
