  • I am 100% not a vegan. I eat meat and cheese and eggs and pretty much all animal products. So hear me when I say I regularly grab oat milk when I'm at the store.

It's not just the best milk substitute, it is better than regular milk.

  • Is it real in the sense that you could prod a similar response out of Grok given the right inputs? Yes.

Is it real in the sense that it's providing factual information and not just providing what its algorithm has decided the user wants to hear? No.

  • Most places will have loud thunderstorms at least a few times a year. They scare pets, trigger PTSD, and can cause a hell of a lot more damage than fireworks. We also only know about them a few days in advance, and have to deal with additional problems like rain and high winds. But we don't get mad at the thunderstorms, and most of us aren't filled with hatred and dread while we wait them out, they are just something that happens.

So considering mother nature will out-do fireworks multiple times a year without any sort of schedule, I really don't see the issue with people using fireworks to celebrate two times a year on dates and times that everyone should know well in advance.

Do they have to happen? No, but enough people want them to happen that you should maybe just learn to put up with it. That's part of living in a society.

  • Triple monitors. Highest quality in the center. One off to the side for videos/discord/other side programs. One off to the side mounted vertically for reading documents and web pages.

  • It's more like:

If you don't 100% support Palestine and don't want to immediately cut off ALL aid to Israel without any forethought or nuance as to what that would actually mean, then you are literally just as bad as the people committing genocide.

    Or shit like:

If you positively engage with the Harry Potter franchise at any point, you are literally just as bad as those who lynch trans people.

    Or things like:

Literally all landlords are parasites, with no exceptions . If you rent a building, you should be dragged out to the street and shot for selfishly hoarding property.

  • Except the hyperbole in this case is comparing someone who has played "one single video game" as the same as kicking trans people down the stairs.

You get that right? The insufferability comes not from saying "please show support by not playing this game" but from saying "if you play this game, you are a bad person".

  • It's more like the truth lands somewhere in between. The people making the argument of "despite the lack of morality, Unit 731 gave us a lot of useful research and advanced human knowledge!" have the same type of mindset as the ones saying "literally nothing Unit 731 did is worth anything. It is all 100% useless and we shouldn't spend any time looking at any of it!".

Essentially, both of these groups started with a conclusion and worked backwards from there. One wants desperately to believe that at least something worthwhile came from all that evil, the other wants desperately to believe that evil like that couldn't possibly produce anything of value.

It's just an attempt to rationalize the absolute atrocities that Unit 731 was allowed to commit. Either by saying it was for some "greater good", or by saying they weren't scientists at all and there was no purpose other than the cruelty.

  • To address his points:

    1. How are women any different in this situation?
    2. How are women any different in this situation?
    3. Why do you feel you can treat men harsher than women?
    4. How are women any different in this situation?
  • This meme would have worked a lot better a few years ago. Hell, even a few months ago.

Life is no longer uneventful, the trolly's brakes have been cut and it is on fire, there are clearly people tied to the tracks and the trolley is already rolling over them.

It was supposed to be space travel... It was supposed to be space travel..

  • So fucking desperate to believe the richest man in the world is secretly miserable, it's pathetic. He cries crocodile tears in a scripted interview and you take that as a "win".

He is. The richest man. In the world. Get that through your head. He's not miserable, he's not regretting his choices. He won and is having the time of his life living consequence free. Tesla stock could drop to zero, he could lose Twitter, and you know what? He'd still be the richest man in the world. SpaceX alone guarantees that.

But sure, you go ahead and pretend the man with more money than God, who can take his private jet to his private yacht and relax whenever he wants, is somehow really sad and depressed because one of his multi-billion dollar companies had their stock temporarily go down by a few percentage points. I'm sure that's a great comfort to you as you struggle to pay rent.
