  • Nothing. I've given up.

I am too small to make a difference, unable to convince others in my life to join, and the companies I want to boycott have grown so big that their brands are everywhere and it's exhausting to try to keep track of them all. Plus, boycotts are pretty ineffective these days. Even in the most extreme cases, companies now know they only have to wait ~2-3 months before the masses stop caring and move on to something else.

Now I just live my life. I support causes I believe in, try to treat everyone I meet with kindness and respect, and do what I can to give myself and my family a happy, comfortable life. That's all I can do, it may not be enough to save the world, but it's enough to save me and those I love

  • There is hope: we can cut our carbon emissions that are causing the warming.

Maybe 25 years ago. It's too late now. There is no hope. We could stop 100% of emissions tomorrow and it would change nothing. We've entered the runaway train scenario.

  • Again, no. There is no law stating you can't wish death on someone. You can't publicly call for their death or anything. But merely wishing for it, or stating you desire it, is not a crime. It doesn't matter if they're a public official or not. There's literally nothing they could be charged with because again, it's not a law.

What possibly led you to think there was?

  • Funnily enough that would push a lot more people into the Healthcare Marketplace (Obamacare) which is often better than healthcare offered through work, depending on your circumstances. Then we might get more people asking why we don't just switch to socialized medicine and be done with it.

  • I opened the article after your comment expecting to see a bunch of Bubbas and Gurdys. Instead I only see two people that don't even fall into morbidly obese, then a bunch of regular people, some overly skinny. In fact, there are more people that look like twigs than those who are overweight.

  • Admitting that a jackass managed to do something good is making him a golden calf? Listen to your dumbass, you literally CAN NOT accept that something good may have come from the guy. Your boner is most certainly hateful.

  • The fuck is a distro? Linux bros can't say a single sentence about how "easy" Linux is without using some terminology that proves it would actually take quite a bit of research for someone unfamiliar to make the switch. People don't want to do that. They want an OS that works without having to take a mini CS course.

You really don't seem to understand how big the gap is. The things you think are easy or intuitive are far from it. Most people can't even figure out how to download something from GitHub, and you think Linux is right for them?

  • No one else is working on reusable rockets, there's no one else to give the contract to. Blue Origin kind of is, but they're focused on tourism and their rockets are so small compared to SpaceX's that it's like comparing a tug boat to a cargo ship.

You just have such a huge hate boner for the guy that you can't even acknowledge the one good thing that came of him. Guess what, terrible people can sometimes do good things. And good people can do terrible things. Too many idiots these days who can't seem to grasp such a simple concept.

  • I wish more websites allowed random words as passwords instead of forcing numbers and special characters (but not THAT special character, you have to use one of the ones on this list).

People change their passwords by one letter or digit because they're tied to these restrictive formats. If 5-6 random words was the norm, people would update more than just one character when needing to change passwords.

"poison navy series ruler handshake papaya" is a fantastic password.

    "Ilovemygrandkids!123" is a horrible password.

  • It’s amazing how all these countries set weak goal

It's can kicking. Make a promise for something 25 years in the future. Who cares if the country can't meet it? You'll likely be out of office or retired by that point. That's the next person's problem.
