  • Try this: outter_command $(inner | command string)

  • There's a cool utility called lasim. It worked really well for me.

  • I just started watching this video after recommending his channel right when you did.

  • This guy does (or did) monthly Arch installs where he'd focus on a different aspect each month. For instance, one month he may do an install with an encrypted filesystem. And the next month he may focus on BTRFS.

  • You wanna know what? You got a problem with Canada Gooses, you got a problem with me, and I suggest you let that one marinate.

  • For my machines, I switched to NeoVim a while ago. There were certain instances when editing large files that Vim would lag and NeoVim doesn't. But I manage a lot of systems that are not my systems, so I use Vim on those.

  • I've used xterm, rxvt, kitty, and now alacritty. I like alacritty because it's fast and simple. The only thing I don't like is that the default color scheme is off. If you run tmux in something like xterm, the bar is green. But in the default alacritty, it looks more yellow.

So I have this in my ~/.config/alacritty/alacritty.yml:

    # XTerm's default colors
    colors:
       # Default colors
       primary:
         background: '#000000'
         foreground: '#d8d8d8'
       # Normal colors
       normal:
         black: '#000000'
         red: '#cd0000'
         green: '#00cd00'
         yellow: '#cdcd00'
         blue: '#0000ee'
         magenta: '#cd00cd'
         cyan: '#00cdcd'
         white: '#e5e5e5'

       # Bright colors
       bright:
         black: '#7f7f7f'
         red: '#ff0000'
         green: '#00ff00'
         yellow: '#ffff00'
         blue: '#5c5cff'
         magenta: '#ff00ff'
         cyan: '#00ffff'
         white: '#ffffff'

  • Very sad. Like others here, vim is a huge part of my work. I even use qutebrowser for vim keys. From what I understood, he was the primary developer and gatekeeper for vim. I wonder if he had plans in place for when he was going to retire

  • I've used both. ZHA didn't perform as well with my number of devices (58) back when I used it. Zigbee2MQTT seems to perform better for me

  • As a Vim user, I like qutebrowser. It's very customizable.

  • I personally like the Zigbee2MQTT add on. And their documentation is great (zigbee2mqtt.io). Also, check out digiblur's content on Youtube.

  • I switched to Nextcloud Notes from Joplin. Along with my own personal "Google Drive", Notes is great

  • I used to use Relay. It was great. But Voyager is really nice for Lemmy

  • Every once in a while I look at what's new (Icinga, Zabbix) because I'm frustrated with it, but I also come back to Nagios. It just works

  • I quite like Voyager. Works really well
