  • Most people won't talk politics unless they know the other person's opinions already. I've had discussions about every day with my friends and wife, but there is no way I'm going to get into a discussion with my parents or maga coworker. I don't have the energy to debunk every stupid thing they say when they won't change their mind.

  • CISA actually monitored Internet traffic and would contact government entities (local, schools, universities, etc) when they were being attacked. I went to a talk once where they said they usually had response times in minutes, and it would take longer to figure out who they needed to alert and convince them that it was real. Now that CISA is gutted I would expect more and worse breaches in the future.

  • Birds dying to HPAI are very easy to catch too, so even the Garfield's out there can be exposed. I had a red tailed hawk crash out in my backyard and it was dead 24 hours later. I put it into a box (after it crashed and didn't move for 20 mins) but no rehab would take it, because there is nothing that can be done to help them.

  • There are cats and European starlings everywhere, extra cats will only hurt the situation. It would be basically impossible to remove starlings at a neighborhood level. Just plant more wild flowers and put up nest boxes starlings can't use, or put up bird feeders if you really want to see other birds.

  • Ya, the incredibly wealthy used to build public infrastructure because they were taxed at like 90% and they thought they might as well make what they want and have it be a donation than let the gov take the money. Now they don't build anything AND are taxes lower than everyone else.

  • Nice. I just fixed my Samsung dryer. The drum was binding or something, about 50% of the time it would make a buzzing noise when started and it wouldn't spin. One of the wheels inside was hard to turn when I took it apart. Replaced 2 wheels, belt, tension arm thing, and motor. Was like $80 in total. I did that yesterday and so far so good. I've had the set for about 10 years too so I'll remember this if the washer stops working.

  • Yes, being able to elect a criminal is by design. I'm sure all of the founders were designated as criminals by England. It's the will of the people over the government which was like their whole thing.

Until the people change their mind we are stuck with Trump and or his cronies.

  • It's a completely fucked up situation to be sure. He was already found guilty of 34/34 felonies he was charged with. MAGA reaction? Put a bumper sticker on their car that says "I'm voting for the felon" right next to their thin blue line sticker. These insurrection charges should have been brought up years ago, but I'm not sure it would have changed anyone's opinion. Like you said, we'll never know.

  • People do train and compete with their dogs in scent work but they use essential oils. So there may be a market for scented toys but probably not for illegal stuff.

Also I'm not sure accidentally busting a drug trafficker is the key to a long healthy life lol.

  • I actually believe that this is how it should be. If it was a tyrannical government (but it's not) citizens could vote in a president that was falsely accused or imprisoned (he is 100% guilty of that and much more).

I do want to clarify that I also believe Trump and the GOP will either destroy or renew (through third party actions) the USA as we know it and if they didn't constantly break the law this could be a good precedent.

But the people voted and he got both popular and electoral votes. The people want the grifter. If it turns out low elo meddled with the results, well, see that third party actions comment.
