I can recall numerous comedy movies I went to where I was the first to laugh. Like a full "ha" before everyone else started laughing. I am unsure if I influenced others to laugh, I was more satisfied that I didn't need another person to laugh to actually enjoy what I was seeing.

It wasn't "just" the audience. Sweetening enhances the laughing - it doesn't replace it.

I always thought of it this way. You see fun videos of sitcom outtakes, everyone is having fun on set. This means multiple takes. How hard would you imagine it is for an audience member, on the 15th take, to laugh? Sweetening.

You are partially correct. The pacing is a thing, for sure.

But if you do watch those videos there are plenty of non-joke pauses for laughs. I can recall one where one of the guys walks up to the others sitting in the cafeteria and says "hey guys"... pause for laughs. He wasn't dressed funny, he wasn't doing anything odd, just... "time to laugh, I guess".

IMO, canned laughs are the tool of those that aren't really that good at writing comedy.

Free speech isn't the same as freedom from consequences for that speech. Hate speech is regulated for a reason. Likening hate speech to an "opposing opinion" is outing your actual agenda here.

Clearly, it's not like her literary skills allow her to reach the level of understanding irony.

Don't worry, there are many people who choose to be ignorant and support the goals of this banner. You won't be alone. You may be disappointed with the larger climate change view of your peers though.

I don't think MAGA really view him in high regard, they more or less allow him because Trump loves him. For all non MAGA people, it's medium entertaining how much of a top to bottom train wreck this guy is. I haven't seen a single instance of him in a public space where he doesn't make himself look like a complete fool only to realize he has exposed himself to then try to get out of whatever hole he just dug unsuccessfully, making him look even more foolish. So, you know, an honest and reasonable representative of the average MAGA.

Taking on losing cases is a waste of time and resources. There isn't even a moral victory to be had in a loss. Even if the accused was actually guilty, their win will be used as vindication and often proof that they did not do the crime. It's a bad idea all around.
