  • I'm not sure if you've picked up on the pattern, but it won't end well for anyone either way. People are getting poorer and less secure just plain matter of fact. Retirement age is coming later and later. Healthcare becoming less and less accessible. Late life benefits are at the whim of a bunch of geriatrics in DC who persistently vote to reduce, delay, or completely remove things previous generations enjoyed.

    The outcome isn't changing no matter the path anyone of us takes. So you may as well keep kids out of that inevitably.

  • This ends when we kill these f–kers

    And yeah, just for anyone wondering. This is a violation of 18 USC § 875(d). Literally saying that about judges carrying out their duties is an actual violation of Federal law punishable by about a year in prison for first offense. Not to mention that it can be construed as obstruction of justice (if you live within the State), which carries it's own penalties.

  • That’s what the AI wants you to think!

  • Yeap, that's all it is plus the PCB and accessories. Looking at it, looks like a 74HC00 - quad NAND gates, 74HC14 - Schmitt trigger inverters, 74HC74 - A dual D flip-flop, and a 74HC153 - dual 4 input mux.

    The clock isn't even a 555, just an RC circuit passed through the Schmitt trigger and the provided hardware XOR is where our NANDs come in.

    It's a neat little project but I think good CPU lessons need to have a MAR/MDR/CIR and show the fetch, decode, and execute cycle. Because a lot of modern concepts derive from asking the question of "how do I optimize that?"

  • Emirati authorities have put in place laws that reflect their values

    Yeah how's those apostasy laws? Oh! Lookie there, it's death. Noice. But in fairness I wouldn't recommend the United States to folks based on my experience of having lived here all my life. So I think it's fair to live and let live at the end of the day.

    That said, challenging a fine and that challenge resulting in an increased sentence encourages folks to accept guilt when it may not be due. I don't like it when they do it here in the US, I think it's fair to indicate that it's not liked anywhere else.

  • IDK about Doom but someone is likely already working on a VLC port for it.

  • Tennessee State General Assembly: I saw a Democrat with a Biden T-shirt set fire to a trash can! It’s totally justified to disqualify Biden!

    My State will sadly pull some stupid stunt like this for sure. I get your sentiment but for a lot of us red States our government will absolutely trip over themselves to demonstrate their “hold my beer” skills.

    That’s not to say Trump shouldn’t be disqualified, but boy oh boy is it opening a box that looks like no one should open it. I really hope SCOTUS comes back and says something like “it went through three different courts and because of THAT reason we’re up holding it.” Just simply saying “well States should decide” will pretty much mean I’ll never get to vote.

  • Jokes on you. HP is moving into the energy sector with their spinning bodies with magnets attached.

  • Israel's government needs roughly 500mg of chill.

  • Trump complains about being disqualified.

    Also Trump:

  • I appreciate your commitment to this meme. I don't exactly agree with you, but hilarious nonetheless.

  • This also ignores that the brain is not wholly an electrical system. The are all kinds of chemical receptors within the brain that alter all kinds of neurological function. Kid of the reason why drugs are a thing. On small scales we have a pretty good idea how these work, at least for the receptors that we're aware of. On larger scales it's mostly guessing at this point. The brain has a knack of doing more than the sum of all parts on a pretty regular basis.

  • The Government is seeking for an answer to the question of, "Does Trump have immunity for the actions taken on January 6th?" The Supreme Court has indicated that they'll take up the question.

    The answer to that question is pretty pivotal to the Jan. 6th case for the Government. Trump's lawyers indicated that a full stop on the Jan. 6th case is needed until the Supreme Court answers. The Government indicated that only a partial stop is needed. The Court sided with Trump's lawyers and put a full stop in place until SCOTUS answers back. Potentially putting the conclusion of the case after the 2024 election.

    The notion is that if Trump wins the presidency, he'll be able to order the Government to stop the court case or he'll just pardon himself, allowing him to side step any ramifications for his attempt to overthrow the US Government.

    The case isn't over, it's just put on hold until SCOTUS answers the indenting question. But the delay may give Trump should he win the election, a way to avoid any jail time or disqualification from running for president.

  • It is non-binding just FYI. So basically it was an official™ "fuck off", but nothing is changing at this time.

  • the law is written specifically to disallow people from boycotting companies that destroy the environment, hate LGBTQ, actively promote anti-LGBTQ ideals, etc., but it DOESN'T stop the alternate

    That's correct! The law is written to be non-commutative. That is it works one way, but the lack of indicating the other, implicitly indicates that it is not true. Here are the sections from the bill.

    (a) Engages in the exploration, production, utilization, transportation, sale, or manufacturing of, fossil fuel-based energy, timber, mining, or agriculture;
    (b) Engages in, facilitates, or supports the manufacture, import, distribution, marketing or advertising, sale, or lawful use of firearms, ammunition or component parts and accessories of firearms or ammunition;
    (c) Does not meet, is not expected to meet, or does not commit to meet environmental standards or disclosure criteria, in particular to eliminate, reduce, offset, or disclose greenhouse gas emissions;
    (d) Does not meet, is not expected to meet, or does not commit to meet any specified criteria with respect to the compensation and composition of the company's corporate board and the employees of the company;
    (e) Does not facilitate, is not expected to facilitate, or does not commit to facilitate access to abortion, sex or gender change, or transgender surgery or medical treatments;

    As you can see they are worded to have meaning in a single direction but aren't reflexive in language. So this allows people to boycott the opposite of the above, but prohibits boycotting anything above.

    It's literally a law compelling conservative belief. And they know it's not going to survive a legal challenge, but they also know they'll get something like two or three decades out it before being completely overturned. It's literally a legislative Hail, Mary.
